Interviews: Asunder

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black  Metal band, Asunder from China. Check out the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it, or come out just like that?

I got the idea for the band name based on my own mental health state at the time. I felt torn apart in my head and the name felt authentic to my experience and who I was.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Black Metal was always an exceptional form of music for me. It was the music I turned to in my darkest moments. When I first started playing music, I only had the option to learn classical piano or guitar. I hated it and always felt like it was too severe. Black Metal allows me to express myself in ways I never knew I could.

3. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My own struggles with mental health have been the sole inspiration behind this project. I wanted to express that fucked up and traumatized side of me that desperately needed a voice to be heard.

4. Whom would you like to feature with?

Really, anyone, I'm always open to working with new musicians.

5. Whom not?

None that I can think of.

6. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't play live so I can't answer that one, but all the best to those brave enough to venture onto the big stage.

7. What bands have inspired you the most?

Agalloch, Dissection, Burzum, Forgotten Woods, Escapism, Bethlehem, Gris, Atramentous, Faidra, Sombres Forets, etc.

8. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Just physical merch like vinyl and t-shirts, can't say I've had any weird requests.

9. What do you think of your fans?

Keep exploring new music. the fact that you stumbled upon my random project probably means you are someone who is deeply passionate about finding new artists, thank you for the support

10. What do you think of our site?

Honestly, I never heard of it until today, I'm not a person who uses the internet much.

11. Something to add?

Be yourself. Find what fulfills you and makes you happy cause there's too much sadness and hurt in this world. Show some love to one another and don't be an asshole. Keep believing in metal
