Interviews: Bleed The Victim

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, Bleed The Victim from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It came from lyrics in an Evile song we were listening to and we just liked how it sounded, plus at that point, we were tired of trying to come up with a name so we just went with it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We grew up on a classic rock, then Metallica kicked it off in the heavier direction, and then we were getting into extreme/death metal. We've always had a thing for this kind of music, it's what drives us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, I play drums and my brother is the vocalist and guitar player, along with our lifelong friend from school who plays the other guitar. Our first bass player was also from our high school.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Our guitarist Tyler's favorite band is Iron Maiden. That was one of the first metal bands we got into. My brother Alec's favorite band is Death. After Metallica, we heard Death and it totally changed the game. Our bass player Toby's favorite band is Hypocrisy. He's loved them for years. My favorite band is Pantera. The Abbott brothers alone are an inspiration to me.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The music itself, the bands we grew up listening to, and the challenge of just writing a good song.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Replay in Lawrence, KS. It's about 30 min from us and one of our favorite spots to play.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere we can make it happen. We love traveling and seeing new places and faces.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

First, one that comes to mind is Howard Jones. There's a reason why he's involved with so many bands and features he's amazing.

9. Whom not?

9. There's no one we can think of whom we'd not do a feature with… Let’s jam!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we waited 2 years before playing shows after getting our songs down. I'd say just make sure you've worked on your craft enough and get tight as a unit before hitting the stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I'd say bands like Death, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, and hell even Journey. They were a big part of our upbringing. Pretty much all the big boys in metal.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Maybe a broken stick or a beer. Nothing too crazy so far.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans, and we appreciate the shit out of their support. We write these songs for the fans and ourselves.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love that you guys support the underground, whether it be in the states or around the world.

15. Something add?

We want to thank Breathing The Core Zine for the support and especially our fans, we have some things brewing we can't wait to show all of you.
