Interviews: Evil Incarnate

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Old School Death Metal band, Evil Incarnate from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

EvilMike: I was reading a Book on Religion at the time that references Satan as Evil Incarnate. In 1996 no one was using that term and posting Video Game reels.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

EvilMike: In my opinion, Black Metal isn’t Evil enough mostly. Guitars are usually too high of tuning and vocals usually are like a Cat. I do hear some heavy-ass riffing in newer bands with Totally Beast Mode Guitar riffs And Tuff as Fuck Vocals but Old School Death Metal bands for me is the Best.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

EvilMike: I have been thru many musicians and lines ups thru the many years but my current drummer Patt Maxwell I went to Jr High School with and have been friends longer than any other. We actually had a band together when we were 19 also. Current bassist, I only recently met my. I was looking for a Festival I run and an Old School Death Metal band from Mexico he fills in with for Tours and things called Mortuary is how we began to speak. Eventually, We met up when I traveled to a different Festival in Ohio and I offered him the position. We recently did a couple Awesomely shows all 3 of us together in Colombia.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

EvilMike: If any of us had to choose a favorite band it would for sure be Old School and Metal of some Kind. Personally, if I had to choose it’s impossible to narrow it down to just one but Absolutely high on the list are Slayer, Dismember, Deicide & Suffocation, or Cannibal Corpse.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

EvilMike: I play for myself first. If anyone else also enjoys what I created then this is a great Bonus. I am a huge fan of Metal as well as a Artist so all kinds of bands influence me. As for lyrics Horror Movies, Life such as Luciferians working at CERN ( The Large Hadron Collider) to open a portal, Religion, The Dark side of Hollywood, Authors, real Historial/ Religious Archeologists and Reporters, and History.

6. Where was your last gig?

EvilMike: our last show was at The Death Cult Fest in Bogota Colombia last November 2022. Our next show is May 2023 in Finland at SteelFest.

7. Where would you like to act?

EvilMike: I would do Horror or Comedy. Of course also Horror Comedy.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

EvilMike: I would do something with Chris Farley if he were still alive but for sure working with Tom Savini and Bruce Campbell would be Awesome.

9. Whom not?

EvilMike: I can’t stand a lot of the big stars. Probably one of the worst for me is Seth Rogan and Robert De Niro. Sure both had some good stuff in the past but the more I see what they really believe and what they do the more I am turned totally off by them.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

EvilMike: I have always had confidence. It’s not arrogant it’s just confident. When I step on stage I don’t care how awesome any band I am sharing that stage with or how much more talented an individual may be I feel as if at that moment it is 100% my damn stage. So for advice? Man, IDK I suppose just do music for yourself first and have fun. This will take away any worries you may have. Live life to enjoy it as it’s short and if we die we die. Nothing we can do about anything when we are dead. Also, remember even the Greatest musicians make mistakes.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

EvilMike: Possibly Old Black Sabbath, Slayer, Old Metallica, Celtic Frost, Bathory, and Old Vital Remains. Also, a shit ton of badass Old School Swedish DM bands like Grave, Unleashed, Entombed, Dismember, Necrophobic, Entrails, and others. Also the Great American DM scene like Morbid Angel, Malevolent Creation, Deicide, Death, Cannibal Corpse, and Suffocation. But there’s so much more like old-school Thrash like Dark Angel & Exodus to Traditional Metal bands like WASP. I could never forget such great European bands like Sodom, Destruction, Arch Goat, Asphyx & Bolt Thrower. I could really go on and on with a huge list and even a few newer DM Bands, UG bands, Grind, Slam, Brutal, and even a few Black Metal bands who do it very well.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

EvilMike: I had a guy wanna take a photo with me when I was pissing in the urinal. That was weird…I am happily Married and have had ladies in the crowd screaming- We Love you

EvilMike: I just looked at my bandmates and we laughed. Some places are a wild man but they are awesome and treat us like we Truly are The Kings of Blasphemy.

13. What do you think of your fans?

EvilMike: Dude we have Some of The Worlds greatest and Most fanatical Fans. We treat them with great respect.

14. What do you think of our site?

EvilMike: I think it is a great site and I hope you keep up the great work and look forward to watching the site continue growth.

15. Something to add?

EvilMike: Support BandCamp! Spotify Rapes Bands and keeps all the money. I never did this for Money but it’s the fact that they do this and everyone still is mesmerized by them. Our new Album will be released by summer we hope. A 2nd Single will be coming in the next Month. See you all on The Road. Besides SteelFest we have other Festivals being booked now and we will be Touring this year 2023 Mexico/ Central America/ South America and also some select dates in the USA. Thanks for This Support!
