Interviews: Sathanas

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band, Sathanas from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Actually our original vocalist like came up with the name. I believe it was from the movie evil speak...

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I guess after hearing bands like venom, slayer, Hellhammer, and Sodom. We just enjoyed that style of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No. I met the vocalist mike down at the middle school parking lot. he walked up to me wearing an exodus shirt. asked where I was from. I said long island NY. we started talking about bands and music. that was the start of it .

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Tough call. I believe my drummer´s favorite band is Celtic frost. My guitarist Adam would be Mayhem. For me is the old Kreator. My bassist venom...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dark topics. satanism. demonology. The occult witchcraft. all of the above.

6. Where was your last gig?

we just played the sub-alpine with corpse god. herbicide. and raven mocker.. corpse Gods are also members of the death metal maniacs' leprosy...

7. Where would you like to act?

act? play you mean... I would like sathanas to make it to Norway maybe Sweden.. or even south America. I believe we would have a good response there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Our friend's Watain is always a great show. mayhem or even emperor would be a blast.

9. Whom not?

probably a non-metal band.. hip hop.. country music...

10. Have Any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not that I remember. I would say just think of it as another practice. don't pay too much attention to the crowd.. just concentrate on your instrument and music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Venom, Hellhammer, Bathory, Sodom, Destruction, Mercyful Fate, Sacrifice, Kreator...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Weird? I remember giving the shirt off my back to a fan in the front row in Germany. another guy used to write me and traded my different stamps.. he collected condoms from different parts of the world...

13. What do you think of your fans?

Sathanas fans have been with us for many years. I have much respect.. was just glad to keep the music going and the sathanas style somewhat original.

Very cool site.. thank you for keeping metal alive...
