Interviews: Univertigo

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal band, Univertigo from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Univertigo is the contraction of "universe" and "vertigo". I love everything about space but it makes me dizzy!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Our style is not really defined, we are close to prog-metal because we do not like to impose barriers on the structure of the songs

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes. We've known each other for a while now, we've played in various bands together and go to gigs together in our city

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Here are our favorite groups: Haken; Epica; Children of Bodom; Candiria; Boards of Canada

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

SF books, any kind of music (Metal, Jazz, Classic, Electro...), traveling abroad... 

6. Where was your last gig?

We are not focused on live performance with UnivertigoWe are not focused on live performance with Univertigo. But we have participated in several concerts with other projects

7. Where would you like to act?

In festivals connect with different artists and of course in concert halls to be with our public

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Already with all our favorite bands that we mentioned before but to add one more: Animal As Leader

9. Whom not?

I'm not going to make a drama here even if I have my little idea haha

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright on stage always appears 10 seconds before going up and disappears at the first note! If you are new to the game, don't look directly at the audience and let the atmosphere take you away!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For my part, I have a hard time identifying my inspirations. It's often a question of what I like at the time; for the album, I can mention Ihlo, Ryo Fukui, Lyde, Boards of Canada, IAMX, Altermind... 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

They are all adorable, even when they tell me about their ski holidays

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are a source of motivation
