Interviews: Failure By Proxy

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, Failure By Proxy from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Came from a long drive and discussed music, bandmates, and the direction of the project. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

This is what we all grew up with to some extent. It’s within us all

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Only several members knew each other prior to the formation of this version of Failure By Proxy. All met through music though.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Antman: Van Halen

Spaz: Sevendust/Electric Callboy

Chuck: Guns & Roses

Chris: Kiss

Elk: Ozzy/Black Sabbath

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life. Life in general inspires us. We all have experiences and moments that we wish to share and this comes out in the music.

6. Where was your last gig?

Goldfields in Roseville, CA

7. Where would you like to act?

Headline stage for Aftershock

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Pop Evil, Godsmack, and Sevendust would be ideal.

9. Whom not?

N/A- we don’t have anyone that we would NOT play with if they fit our style and the show.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Chuck: My first time singing or playing my own music I had terrible stage fright, I stood about 3 feet from the mic, and my bandmate put a knee in my backside to help me get closer to the mic. The satisfaction of success inspires confidence, and the fear becomes excitement. My tip would be to be confident in yourself, and what you do, what you have to offer, and let fear motivate you to overcome.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Van Halen, Guns & Roses, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Black Crowes. You can hear some influences infused in parts of our songs.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Probably not safe to say. Ha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans and particularly our Sacramento home base fans. Always been a big supporters of us and love to see their faces.

14. What do you think of our site? 

The first appearance, it is driven to the metal genre, easy to navigate tho, and love all the articles/features

15. Something you'd like to add?

Their high energy and stage presence have led them to open for national acts such as Gemini, Messier, FLAW, Smile Empty Soul, Oleander, Puddle of Mudd, Buckcherry, Joyous Wolf, P.O.D., Nonpoint, Islander, Nine Shrines. Failure by Proxy was also nominated for Best Hard Rock Band for 2018 in the Sacramento News & Review SAMMIES Award. FxP has also been featured nearly a dozen times on the Sacramento Rock Station 98.5 Rock.
