Interviews: Interdrive

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Interdrive, from Canada. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Since we all come from different styles and inspirations, and we come from different generations with our age gaps, we decided to bring everything together and mix our styles while keeping the same motivation 'drive'! Hence the 'Inter Drive'!  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It is hard for us to really qualify what genre we're playing because we like to try different styles. Sometimes we make more progressive music, sometimes we like to go super heavy, etc. The possibilities are endless. And we like to use distortion!  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

JF (guitar) and Jief (bass) knew each other since they were kids. Dave (drums) and Fab (vocals) then met them through the band. We've played more than 10 years together now (6 years with Fab since he joined later).  

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Fab: Tool 

JF: Dead Kennedys 

Jief: BB King 

Dave: Deftones  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Life in general. Society, work, relationships, breakups. Weed :)  

6. Where was your last gig? 

Montréal!  

7. Where would you like to act?  

Europe, South America, and Japan.  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Deftones, Tool, Northlane, Silent Planet, Eddie Vedder, Tom Morello, Alexisonfire.  

9. Whom not?  

Justin Bieber, or any other commercial pop artist  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

It happens all the time before a show! I'd say to simply breathe, regroup with the other band members before going on stage (to connect), be yourself, appreciate the moment and mostly HAVE FUN! If you have fun on stage, it will show and people will have fun too!  

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Fab: Tool, Alexisonfire, Northlane. 

JF: Jimi Hendrix 

Jief: BB King 

Dave: Nirvana  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Autograph a cymbal or a setlist.  

13. What do you think of your fans?  

They're the best! They're the reason why we got this far and keep going! Seeing the look on their faces when they're digging the songs and enjoying the show is just priceless!  

14. What do you think of our site?  

It's really good and will help new bands get discovered. Many bands to listen to and great variety of core music.
