Interviews: Cascade

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore band Cascade, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We knew that we wanted a strong single worded name and it was Andy who had this name floating around his head - we all liked as soon as he said it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't actually decide that we were going to play this genre. It was just a result of all of our influences mixed together!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yeah. Scott, Ste and Scott all studied music at Salford University and we were all in previous bands that bumped into each other at some point along the gigging circuit.
4. Each band member favourite band?

Andy: Protest The Hero
Ste: Architects
Scott J: Issues
Scott C:  Tricot

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Mainly we write from personal experience but also whatever we feel emotionally attached to at the time. This can range from situations in our personal lives to our favourite tv shows - we love Stranger things and The Walking Dead!
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in Manchester, UK.
7. Where would you like to play?

We'd actually love to come over to Spain and play!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?
There are so many! But we'd love to play with bands such as Dance Gavin Dance, Don Broco, BMTH and Hands like Houses to name a few.
9. Whom not?
Jedward or just anyone from the X-factor.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Each of our first gigs as individuals rather than as a band. It's natural early on but to beat it the key is perseverance, the more you get on stage the more comfortable you become.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Emarosa, Bring Me The Horizon, Issues, Hands Like Houses, Underoath, Alexisonfire, Thrice and Slaves.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

It's still weird for us to be asked for autographs. It rarely happens but it's odd because most people want photos instead these days.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are great and surprising! We played a headline show in our hometown, Manchester, and we didn't think that many would turn up but we were pleasantly surprised by how many come just to see us play. We're relatively new on the scene so having a nice handful of fans to see us was humbling.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it! It's an amazing platform for bands to gain that bit of exposure that they need. That's always great to see.

15. Something to add?

We have some a load more new music to come, along with music videos, later this year. We'll also have plenty of live shows and tours coming up!
