» » News: Aqualamb Records Hosts Its Northside Festival Matinee Label Showcase At Saint Vitus Bar In Greenpoint, Brooklyn On Saturday June 10th From Noon - 6:00PM

Aqualamb Records is pleased to announce its official Northside Festival matinee show and party at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York this Saturday, June 10th from 12:00PM - 6:00PM EST. With bands that cover the spectrum from doom and noise to psych pop and stoner rock, you won't find a deeper, darker headtrip at the festival!

The showcase will feature bands from the current Aqualamb roster including LO-PAN, who recently wrapped up a US tour supporting their epic new In Tensions EP and HIRAM-MAXIM supporting their haunting new Ghosts LP. Also performing are death rockers BLACK BLACK BLACK, sludgsters GODMAKER, post-hardcore vets DESCENDER, psych-rockers THE SPACE MERCHANTS, the creepy NATHANIEL SHANNON AND THE VANISHING TWIN, and new label friends SKRYPTOR featuring members of Cleveland noise rock pioneers Craw and Dazzling Killmen.

Aqualamb is a Brooklyn based imprint led by designers Eric Palmerlee and Johnathan Swafford. Their signature releases take the form of 100-page, bound, printed books - essentially, each album's art and liner notes, traditionally confined to an LP gatefold, a CD booklet, or the screen of some music-playing device, are reconfigured into book form.

LO-PAN - Anthemic desert rock.

GODMAKER Doomy sludge metal.
4:30 - 5:00

"An example of genuine out of-nowhere brilliance. A patient drawn out campaign of aggression." - Relix

BLACK BLACK BLACK Melodic death rock.
3:45 - 4:15

"...the kind of good-natured misanthropy of bands like Whores or KEN mode, but the musical gestures beneath the noisy exterior are all forward-charging, Kyuss-worshipping sludge n' roll. It's basically underground metal's version of a radio banger." - BrooklynVegan

THE SPACE MERCHANTS Whiskey-soaked space-rock.
3:00 - 3:30

"A unique brand of lo-fi psych rock... their huge-yet-minimal sound, mixing psych with blues and country style riffs to make something great." - Magnet

DESCENDER - '90s Influenced post-hardcore.
2:15 - 2:45

"...a 21st Century compliant post-hardcore band that was raised on metal and got dosed with a tab of AmRep..." - Jaded Scenster

HIRAM-MAXIM Noisy experimental doomgaze.
1:30 - 2:00

"Builds into an apocalyptic fervor before dissipating into a cloudy haze & ending before you've had your fill." - VICE

SKRYPTOR - Math-rock supergroup.
12:45 - 1:15

Friends of the label, members of Midwestern math-rock masters Craw and Dazzling Killmen join forces in a new trio, playing intense yet intricate instrumental rock that falls somewhere between prog and punk.

NATHANIEL SHANNON & THE VANISHING TWIN - Creepy bedroom recording darkness.
12:00 - 12:30

"An unsettling yet captivating collection of songs compiled from a decade of bedroom recordings... Shannon's spoken word-style vocals over haunting and minimalist instrumentals lend a creepy atmosphere to the record." -  Decibel
