Interviews: Never Found

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Never Found , from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name came from a Green Day lyric from the song 21st Century Breakdown. ‘I once was lost but ‘Never’ was ‘Found'

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We never really set out to play any genre in particular, but we do know that we wanted to play metal. We never aimed for any sub genre as we thought it would limit what we wanted to do, and wouldn’t allow us to evolve without disappointing people that love that particular sound. We just write what we want to write and hopefully people like where we are heading. People have tried putting us in a box before and we can’t say we enjoyed it. We just want to be Never Found and do what we do.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dan and Sweeten go back the longest. they were childhood best friends and had always wanted to be in a band together but always struggled finding a full lineup. Dan moved from Wales to Oxford and met Kieran in college and he was the missing link to getting the band up and running. Shortly after Dan met Sam In University and the lineup was completed. So All the members had known each other through education of some sort before the band took its final form.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Very hard question, but if we were to state the ones that inspire each member the most we would have to say

Dan: Bullet For My Valentine
Sam: A Day To Remember
James: Aiden
Kieran: Incubus

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We like to write about what is happening in our lives at that current moment. All of us have had big struggles in our lives that will never really leave us. We reflect this in our writing as we can all relate to one another in some way. We all have an input in the lyrics, it really helps the whole band feel like they are performing from the heart.. Dan writes most of the lyrics, but he isn’t writing just for him, he is writing with all of us in mind and anyone who has ever suffered something similar.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Star & Garter in Manchester. It was a boiling hot and the last day of our UK headline ‘The Come To My Grave Tour’. It was absolutely insane! Every band that played was brilliant. We had stage invasions, crowd surfing and one concerned looking venue owner. The best part looking back was it was how far away from home we were and how many people turned up! Gave us a bit of a shock! Cant wait to go back though we love Manchester.

7. Where would you like to play?

We are all in agreement we would love to play the states. To be more particular it would have to be Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood. But honestly, we would be happy to play in someones shed, just to have the oppurtunity to get over there and show people what we've got.

8. Who would you like to play with?

Also a tough question! There are so many people we take inspiration from but we think a show with Bullet For My Valentine would be our ultimate show. We are from the same Country, same county and the same town as them. It would be the ultimate Welsh show for us!

9. Who not?

We are completely open to playing with anyone. If the Backstreet Boys fancy a reunion and call us up and ask if we want a support slot believe us, we would take it. The only ones we would avoid are the ones who think they are better than everyone. If you think that, chances are that you aren’t as great as you think.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

It takes a lot to phase us. The only time we have been really been taken back was the London Show on the Aiden farewell tour. It was a sold out show in The Underworld in Camden. I think it was more bewilderment at how far we’ve come than stage fright. Our tips for stage fright are just get up and do it! by the second song you will be in love with the feeling of being on stage! Its either that or beer. We like mixing both!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There's so many influences in our music its tough to call it to list a few theres Bring Me The Horizon, Papa Roach, Aiden, A Day To Remember, Alexisonfire and Bullet For My Valentine.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There's nothing strange super strange we have been asked for but there is one story of worrying dedication to us. One of us had posted about a small inconvinience on twitter and a fan started sending us pictures of knives asking for this persons address! We laughed it off at first thinking it was a joke, but they were serious! stopped replying very quickly after that! Never heard much from them after that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans literally mean the world to us, without them we would never be on this amazing journey! They are super loyal and we can never thank them enough for that. Sometimes some of them will get grief for going to metal shows because they are female. Theres people out there that think females can’t go to metal shows because they can’t handle it, our fans would kick their ass. We’ve seen it. They Rock.

14. What do you think of our site?

Aswell as the fans that make the band its also sites like yours that help keep this industry afloat! We love the site, its informative, interesting and has plenty to offer! We can’t extend how grateful we are for you taking the time to talk to us and all the other bands you speak to too! Thank you for everything you do!

15. Something to add?

Make sure you catch the release of ‘The Human Condition’ on the 6th of October! We’ve got loads of stuff to come in the mean time aswell so follow us on our social media!
