Interviews: PROLOGUE OF A NEW GENERATION

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal/Djent band PROLOGUE OF A NEW GENERATION, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name from? Did you plan it or it just came to one of you suddenly?

Our name emerged after a huge brainstorming session. A few years ago our city experienced a difficult period for live music and metal-rock bands, they were all dying out. We wanted to be a new beginning.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's the genre all of us listen to and we believe it's also the best kind of music to express ourselves in the realest way possible. And last but not least we love sweat, beer and all the sick people who come to listen to us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We’ve had many, many changes in the line-up, since the foundation of the band in 2014. Me (Mirko voice), Cris (guitar) and Toni (drums) were previously in a band together, which played some kind of Death metal with hardcore and groove influences. We shared a path with our now former band mates Dionis(bass) and Nico(guitar) and we wanted to create something new. Something more djently;)

4. What is each band member’s favourite band?

Mirko: While She Sleeps

Cris: Monuments

Dionis: Polyphia

Nico: Architects

Toni: Vildhjarta

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

So many ideas come out from movies or books, life stories, memories as well as positive and negative experiences.

6. Where was your last gig?

In our Town, Trento (ITALY)

7. Where would you love to perform?

We love each stage and every place that gives us the chance to play our music, everywhere and anywhere!

8. Whom would you like to play with?

There are just too many to mention! But we all love Monuments and their sound! So to share something with them would be awesome!

9. And who would you NOT like to play with?

I think there is only one name to say, Pupo, an Italian artist, we hate him.  And any racist bands, we hate them to.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat it?

We all have anxiety and fear before a show, but it’s part of the game. It’s a huge adrenaline rush, I think that's why we do it. The only thing that really matters is to make sure that you completely express what you feel, believe in what you are doing and try to make the people who are watching you feel the same way.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We listen to a lot of different stuff, from Messhuggah to Deftones. I think we are strongly influenced by all of our different musical flows and taste, from post hardcore to extreme metal, passing through prog and djent. For sure, Veil of Maya, Erra, Tesseract and Periphery leave their influences on our creative music process.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

While we were on tour, in Romania, a dude under the stage, after the concert asked us for a lift home. In return he offered us his room to sleep in, while he slept drunk with his father. Crazy!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Support, friendship, satisfaction. We’d be nothing without them.  We're grateful for every single one of them.

14. What do you think of our site?

All of you who support and give space to underground music and young bands have our respect.
