Interviews: Of Legions

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Hardcore band Of Legion, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name originally came from a Whitechapel song back in the day,  we were roughly 15/16 at the time and way too into them. There's a track called "Of Legions." and it just ended up sticking.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I think it's the energy and technical ability behind it, whenever you see a band of this genre doing a great job you see the audience feeding off their energy and it's always memorable. You go to one of these shows and you've actually been to a gig, no ones stood still or in the smoking area the whole gig, its an experience. You listen to a track and you can feel the energy, passion and skill that went into it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Luke and I (Sam.) went to the same high school, the origin of the band started then, years back and with different members. Since then we’ve played around the country and with some of the bands that got us into the music scene to begin with.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Sam: Parkway Drive
Luke: Trash Talk
Nath: Thy Art Is Murder
Ollie: The Chariot

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I think the main thing that inspires us to write songs is seeing peoples reactions to something we created. When everything's all lined up perfectly, the crowds going crazy and everyone's feeding off each others energy that's what keeps you going and inspires you to write more, the thought of writing a song and visualising the crowd's reaction.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was actually a hometown gig, after coming back from tour we decided to end the run of dates with a hometown show. It was a good note to end the tour on

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere across the country, we'd love to place more festivals and just meet more people surrounding the scene, anywhere with a good following.

8. Who would you like to play with?

There are so many great bands out there smashing it at the minute, Malevolence, Nasty, Trash-Talk, While She Sleeps we'd love to play with as many bands as possible.

9. Who not?

I don't think there's anyone we particularly wouldn't want to play with, as long as the bill was fitting, we wouldn't wanna play after say following a jazz trance set, there's no way we could top that

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I (Luke) used to get stage fright really bad when we first started out, the trick is to chuck yourself into the deep end by the end of the first song it all fades away.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think as with most musicians the bands that inspired you the most are the ones you grew up listening to via family and friends. We were quite lucky in the sense that we had quite a few great bands pass through, the bands that inspired us the most were bands that started of doing small shows and you could see their act progress and grow over the years.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We've never had a fan ask us for anything weird but once a fan got up and started dancing behind us all, with no security or anything he just ended up staying there for about 2/3 songs,

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the best thing about doing this, without them, there would be no us

14. What do you think of our site?

Anywhere that showcases a variety of different talent will always be a great place to us
