Interviews: Tonight We Stand

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Melodic Metalcore band Tonight We Stand, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It wasn’t hard to find the band name actually. We weren’t searching for a common name or a weird one, instead we were looking for a name that could actually means something.

So, looking on the internet one day I found the sentence “United we stand, divided we fall” and then “Tonight We Stand” came to my mind and for us sounded really good.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all come from different music influences and we all agreed to have a solid
basement in metalcore and from that “starting point" we could add our different
influences to make our sound unique.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us knew each other already before the band started. Phil knew Matt and Matt knew Rick.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We all have different favourite bands. Andy’s favourite band is Beartooth. Phil’s favourite: Metallica
Matt’s: Five Finger Death Punch
Rick’s: Iron Maiden
Mine is Avenged Sevenfold

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Each member has its own inspirations that takes from his life experiences, from books we read and from music we listen to.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Minsk, Belarus, supporting the american band “Our Last Night", it was an awesome concert and the crowd was fantastic!

7. Where would you like to act?

Well, I think we would like to play everywhere in the world, we believe that music has no borders. However, we would love to play in the United States.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would like to feature with many singers, in particular with Parkway Drive’s singer Winston Mccall, ATR’s Phil Labonte, MIW’s Motionless In White, A7X’s Matt Shadows.

9. Whom not?

Actually, I wouldn’t like to feature with some italian musicians who wrongly think they are some kind of freakin’ rockstar.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Fortunately we are all musician who don’t suffer stage fright, our moves on the stage are the only things we changed a lot. We were not moving a lot in our first shows, and being motionless for a band like us was really awful.. but after many many concerts we begun to improve our movements and now we are the lords of our stage. There are not so much words for the beginners, they have to practice a lot both their songs and their movements. The most important thing is that they have to enjoy their own shows, if you don't have fun while playing your music, you won’t go anywhere

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We are five different musicians that came from different genres of music: each
member of the band comes from different music influences, ranging from the classic heavy metal to hardcore. It’s always difficult to answer when people ask us “Who are your musical influences?”, because everyone of us will answer you differently. Someone would say Motionless In White and Asking Alexandria, someone would say Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold and many more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well, when we were playing in Minsk, during our last song, the audience start a wall of death and we were extremely proud of them.

After the show we were selling our merchandise and we were taking photos with all the fans and all of a sudden a guy without one tooth tried to ask us to take a photo, but it was extremely difficult to understand what he was saying because he had lost that tooth during the wall of death. Even though he had lost it, he thanked us for the shows as for him it was amazing.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the most important part of our project, without them we can’t do anything. With them we have a strong relationship, we like very much to hang around with them and especially talking with them. We think that this is the most important thing of a band: have a strong friendship with fans and be always available to answer to their questions or in general being available for them.

14. What do you think of our site?

We are ok with our sites, we try to be always in contact with our fans and to update them showing all our activities, this is why we have our page on Facebook, our own private profiles, you can find us on Instagram,Twitter and on VK too. Your website is very cool, we like it!

15. Something to add?

We haven’t many things to say, we just hope that people will continue supporting us but especially supporting the underground music, because it’s here where the next generation of (maybe) famous bands will come out.
