Interviews: Give Em Hell Kid

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Post-Hardcore band Give Em Hell Kid, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Casey: "Finding the band name took a very long time. We wanted a good one. One day Ryan came to practice and pitched that name, and we all fell in love. It embodies everything we stand for in just four words. It came from the My Chemical Romance song, "Give ‘Em Hell, Kid."

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Casey: 'We weren’t sure what we wanted to play at first. When writing the first record we just created a bunch of songs that all generally sound pretty different. That was us trying to find ourselves. We all love music that makes you move in some way. Interaction is key at live shows which is why we do this."

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ryan: "I knew Jared. We had worked on projects together while he was in college."

Jared: "I recorded the band that Tyler was in before this."

4. Each band member favourite band?

Casey House, "My Chemical Romance" Jared Griffith, "Protest the Hero" Ryan Polesko, "Dir en Grey" Tyler Wayne, "Between Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold", Jason Stevens, "Way too many to pick for me."

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Jason: "My life, my experiences and feelings."

Ryan: "Yeah, broad answer, but it's really about artistic expression for me. Need to get out aggression somewhere."

6. Where was your last gig?

Casey: "We played at this local venue here is VB called Shakas with Miss May I, Ice Nine Kills, Capsize, Fire From the Gods, and Lorna Shore. That show was a blast."

7. Where would you like to act?

Ryan: "Honestly I think Newfoundland would be great to go play at. Other than that Japan is definitely a place that I want to go."

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Casey: "Anthony DeMario from Capstan. If you haven’t checked them out you really should, but his vocals have so much emotion behind them that I feel Ryan and Anthony would work great together."

Ryan: "I honestly would enjoy working with him, but I really want to write a song with Kyle Hollis of Picturesque, and Daniel Wand of Capsize. Those guys are on my radar right now and I love their music. Maybe Tyler Dennen of Sworn In."

9. Whom not?

Ryan: "Not in our music scene, would be Ariana Grande. I really don't see that working out. We are just moving in different directions. Sorry, Hon."

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Jason: "Not really. I've always felt more comfortable on stage than off. Trying to navigate social situations before and after is far more anxiety inducing to me."

Tyler: "All of us experience some sort of stage fright. The important thing to realize is that playing shows is all about having fun and playing the music you love and enjoy."

Casey: "Once you start getting solid consistent responses from the crowd, the stage fright melts away to excitement. Just keep going and improving until you start seeing a response. It changes everything."

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Jared: "The Ongoing Concept. They have such a wild sound and are so diverse in what they are capable of producing."

Tyler: "A7X, Corey Taylor, ATR (All That Remains)."

Ryan: "Dir en Grey, The GazettE, IAMX, and From First To Last"

Jason: "There's a lot, but off the top of my head: MCR, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, A Day to Remember, Kanye West, Cage."

Casey: "As a drummer, Zach Farro of Paramore, The Rev from A7X (RIP), and Bob Bryar of My Chemical Romance. As a musician, Paramore, Blink 182, Silverstein, and of course MCR."

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Jason: "Nothing that I can recall. We've been asked for autographs before, that always blows my mind."

13. What do you think of your fans?

Casey: "Our fans are so great. They are all super supportive of the band. We have people that come to every single show no matter where it is. The dedication is appreciated beyond words."

14. What do you think of our site?

Casey: "We love the site. You guys have such interesting content. The interviews, the news updates, you guys really stay on top of everything."

Ryan: "It's really nice that you guys have the smaller bands on the feed, right next to the bigger bands."

15. Something to add?

Jason: "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Stay hungry. Stay foolish."

Ryan: "Well that is something."

Casey: "... Our debut record Some Say In Fire comes out February 26th, check us out on YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, all the regular places. Also check out our website giveemhellkid.com for merch, show updates, and many many more. We will see you all very soon!"
