News: Hail The Sun to Tour with Circa Survive!

Chico, California based progressive rock outfit, Hail The Sun, have announced that they will be joining Circa Survive on their upcoming The Amulet Tour this spring.  Hail The Sun, along with Foxing, will join Circa Survive on all 22 tour dates spanning the continental United States and select cities in Canada. This will be the latest in a long line of high profile tours that Hail The Sun have been a part of over the past few months - including a full North American co-headlining tour with I The Mighty and a run of the United Kingdom supporting Silverstein, as well as, a hometown date with Glassjaw in Sacramento in November. VIP tickets are now on sale and general tickets will be available on Friday.

Hail The Sun surprised fans with an unannounced EP, entitled Secret Wars, via  Equal Vision Records last November. Secret Wars is a more aggressive extension of the band’s previous release, Culture Scars and has garnered a tremendous amount of buzz both in the world of press and amongst fans (both new and old). The initial idea and mission statement for this EP took shape while the band was recording Culture Scars, and as Melero points out in the Alternative Press premiere for the video for lead single “1109”, it is even alluded to in the liner notes for that record. On Secret Wars, the band looked to “acknowledge all those battles that are kept behind closed doors. There may always be a force working against us, by our chemistry, or by those who supposedly have the public’s best interest in mind”. The EP served as the perfect capstone to the Culture Scars era of the band and will undoubtedly get listeners excited for what’s in store next from Hail The Sun, as the band is currently in the studio working on the follow up to Secret Wars.

The band has largely built their following on an explosive live show in which Melero somehow manages to deliver vocals from behind the drumkit with as much, if not more, intensity as the most respected frontmen in rock. Seeing the band perform is, without a doubt, the sort of experience that is not to be missed.
