Interviews: Ways

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock/Alternative band Ways from France. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

This name is about direction, the way to go to find some solutions and move on again and again. Nothing is blocked, there is always a way, an alternative to move on. We found this name at the beginning of this project. The idea was to find a short name that speaks about direction and alternative solution to find a way and move on. Ways. was the perfect choice.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

All together, we grew up with a lot of great bands like Deftones, 36 crazyfists, Underoath, Linkin Park and many more. Metal music was always for us an inspiring thing, at the same time strong, melodic and sad. When you start playing an instrument, the first thing you do is to try to play some guitar riffs or drum parts of songs you love. We love Rock, Metal, Hardcore music and play this kind of music is really great. Also, we play and we listen different kinds of music. For example, if you listen our EP "AFTERMATH", you can find two instrumental tracks "Twilight Until Dawn" and "Thirteen". These two songs are more post-rock than metal. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Tony, Bruno and me (Niko) played in Rise of Echoes. So we know Tony since 10 years, maybe more. Bruno is my brother, so it's different :). About Clément and Nico, we met these guys for Ways. 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

For me (Niko), i'm gonna say "Thrice".

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Ours songs speak about a lot of things like ecology, global warming, poaching,

animals mistreatment and human behavior.  

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig was in Spain. We begun the "AFTERMATH Tour" since few weeks et we have a lot of great gigs coming.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Everywhere. There are two things we love in life, music and travel. So, if we could make those both, it would be great. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Deftones, 36 crazyfists, Thrice and Underoath for international bands. In France,

share the stage with bands like AQME or Mass Hysteria would be so great.

9. Whom not? 

We don't know.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Yeah at the beginning with our first gigs when we were younger. Now, the fright is different. It becomes something positive and ecxiting. To fight the fright before a show, you have to keep in your mind that everything is just amazing, stay focus, be prepared before the show, smile and just enjoy and if you make a mistake, don't stop and keep your smile. A show is a great party. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

It's really difficult to give you an answer for this one. We love a lot of artists and kind of music. But, if we have to choose bands that are curently an inspiration for us, we could say Underoath, A Day To Remember and 36 Crazyfists. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Nothing weird for now :).

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Our fans are amazing, full of joy and love. For example, during our last Tour in Spain, we met a lot of great fans who we shared a lot of emotions with laughs and joy.

14. What do you think of our site? 

Your site is fucking great!!
