Interviews: Caleb Car Crash

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock/Metal band Caleb Car Crash from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, “Celeb Car Crash” is also the title of one of the songs that feature our first record. At that time the band had a different name, and we weren’t so happy to continue with that one, se we were looking for something different. When Nicola came to us with this new lyric, I was totally impressed by the title and I suggested to use it as the new band’s name. It’s unique, has a strong meaning, and it’s more international that the one we used before. We decided to ask some friends from US and UK which was the best name between the old one and the new, and “Celeb Car Crash” won with detachment!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We are deeply influenced by the 90s american Rock scene. We love bands like Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots. We didn’t really decide to play a certain kind of music, we just put all our influences together and the result is a sound very close to that scene.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We recently changed our lineup, due to different musical visions. Our new bass player and guitar player come both from bands we know from a long time. The Rock scene in our region is not so big, so we know very well which guys could share the same vision and drive we got. I take this opportunity to introduce you Alex that will take care of our bass frequencies, and Simone that will be our new Lead guitar.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Michelangelo : Metallica
Simone : Metallica
Nicola : Sloundgarden
Alex: Rage Against the Machine

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Usually every song we wrote start from a guitar and voice idea that Nicola, our singer, bring to us. The inspiration could come from a film,or a record or a particolar situation he’s living during the songwriting process.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our last gig in our drummer hometown Faenza. It was the last one with th old lineup.

7. Where would you like to act?

It would be a dream for u sto play in the US! Unfortunately in this phase of our career we are not able to plan a tour there; you know we have to cover a lot of costs and we hadn’t find yet the right promoter that could book gigs financially sustainable.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We Toured with Lacuna Coil and we were impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the band. They are a war machine on and off stage. There also other Italian bands that are really awesome. As Audience we’ve really appreciated, Qotsa, Soundgarden, Biffy Clyro and other big international acts. Everything about rock that is played with heart and soul left us Awestruck.

9. Whom not?

We are very far from the hip-hop scene… So I can tell you we will never work with an artist coming from that side of music!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all love to be on stage, but It took a lot of time and Energy to tame the stage. If I could give a tip for a beginner, I can say the most important thing on stage is to be sure of their means, also if you are fucking all the performance!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our sound is deeply influenced by the rock scene of the 90’s. Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana are bands we have grown with musically speaking.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We were playing in the Netherland last year, and a drunk dutch guy ask our singer to play “Volare”!!! Everywhere we go the Italian music steretype follow us!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We play a kind of music that today is not as popular as in the 90s. So we know our fans are truly dedicated to the sound of that period, but also to the way music was lived in that decade.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love webzines that are still speaking aboyt Rock and Metal music giving attention also to underground bands. We are very pleased that Breathing the Core decided to give us a space to introduce our music!

15. Something to add?

Thank you for the interview, visi tour site www.celebcarcrash.com and give a chance to our music! If you like it let us know your opinion.
