Interviews: Saltlake

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock  band Saltlake from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The bands name is something that we can never really remember how it came
about. I remember we needed to change our name and had made plans to do so but after about 3 months of coming up with ideas we were completely stuck.

We had a single coming out and had made a big announcement we were changing our name and the day was nearly upon us when we were supposed to release and we didn't have anything. Our old guitar player at the time came out with it and it just stuck. We liked the kind of obscurity of it and we just rolled with it. Its done us proud so far.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This is simply just the genre we love. We love combining heavy rock with big poppy melodies as they work so well together and there's so many cool avenues you can venture down. We have also all been brought up on rock music and there was just no way we were going to play anything else!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Liam and myself are good friends from School. We've known each other probably the best part of 10 years. John we came to know through some mutual friends about a year and a half ago and became good mates soon after that. Both Liam and I have been playing together in various projects since we
first met and things with john probably took off about a year ago!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Man, that's a tough one as there are so many. Some of our biggest influences
are

Liam - Extreme
Henry - Guns N' Roses
John - My Chemical Romance

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

So many things can inspire you to write songs. I don't think we have any particular theme, usually we just write about what we are feeling at the time or events happening at a certain time, or sometimes maybe certain memories and stuff like that. Whatever we might be feeling.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was a little while ago at a cool bar (name escapes me) in Shoreditch, was a cool little sweaty gig!

7. Where would you like to play?

We are still fairly fresh on the London circuit so theres plenty of brilliant venues we'd love to smash up in town. As well as that, we would love to go and play some cool shows over in Europe. We here nothing but great feedback fron bands who've toured over there.

8. Who would you like to support?

There is so many great upcoming bands out there but the bands we'd love to get the opportunity to play with would be the likes of Arcane Roots and Pvris. Those two bands are pretty awesome and we look up to them a lot!

9. Who not?

Ooooo that's harsh. Any publicity is good publicity in my opinion, so no one really.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

None of us lucky suffer with that. But we do get nervous. Best thing I would suggest is to channel your nerves and adrenaline and use it in your performance. Be prepared but don't think like crazy otherwise that's when you make mistakes.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think we take inspiration from our hero's and watching them and growing up listening to them. For me, it was when I first heard GN'R; my life literally changed that day.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

That's an interesting one. We once had to sign a bit of toilet role for a drunken guy at a bar in London after we had played. He was insisting, as it might be worth something one day, which made us laugh.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are amazing, and extremely loyal. We are small and upcoming so we see a lot of familiar faces at our shows and to know that there are people like them out there that are still going to shows and buying music gives me great hope.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think its brilliant and important. Its so good to have a platform for us to discuss and promote our music. Thank you very much for for giving us the opportunity to speak to you guys.

15. Something to add?

Our new single Dreaming In The dark is available on 1st June 2018. Available on all streaming services and online retailers.
