Interviews: Walls Of Babylon

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal  band Walls Of Babylon from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE. 

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Walls of babylon is referred to Symphony x song, a great band, a great song and it sounds cool ; )

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We have many influencies, but progressive metal is the perfect way to express ourselves in music. This is our favorite genre too, but we like to play it cause allow to write whitout barriers, the ideas are free to flow on the pentagram.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We live in a small town since we are born, and we know each other from the childwood, more or less, like individual or like musician, personally i play with Fabiano and Francesco, our guitarists, since we are twenty years old in other band called Deathriders, and was Francesco that call me to play with him and Fabiano, again, in this new adventure.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Me, Valerio: Symphony x

Matteo: Nofx

Fabiano: Blind guardian

Francesco: Dream theatre

Marco: Dimmu borgir

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our inspiration come from our musical background and the analysis of every aspect of progressive metal. I think that love for this kind of music inspire us everyday.

6. Where was your last gig?

We've played in Monteporzio last saturday with other two local bands. It was a great show, expecially cause it was the day after our album release and we were so excited and ready to bagan our journey with "A portrait of memories".

7. Where would you like to act?

Actually our focus is entirely on livedate and we hope to play everywhere we're allow to do. Naturally our highest hope is to play in the biggest european cities and in the most famous live clubs maybe to support some of our favourite bands. Dream its not a crime.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I’d love to duet with Tommy Karevik of Seventh wonder or with the ex singer of Kamelot Roy Khan but i can talk for hours about the musicians we admire and we dream to play with.

9. Whom not?

Gigi D'Alessio and the others singers that rules the entire Italian scene, killing every kind of music more powerfull and progressive.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Ahahaha i think that every musician and live performer had his frightening moment before the stage and we have it too. Its not a shame, cause it permit you to focus and give all to your fans. I think that a glass of whiskey can do miracles ; )

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There wasn't only a band that inspired us. Everyone of us have his favourite bands and genre, but i think that Dream theatre, blind guardian and Symphony x are the bands, in our musical background, that allowed us to write our albums.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To tattoo his back with the cover of our first album.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are very crazy and They supports us with entusiasm and with great parties after every show.

14. What do you think of our site?
