Interviews: OXBLOODS

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band OXBLOODS from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Alex: "We know it came from the colour of Chris' Doc Marten's, but I can't remember whether we originally said it as Oxbloods or Oxblood."

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

Matt L: "For me personally, it's more natural progression. I've always been in alternative rock genred bands, so typically it's easy to get into writing for that style. With Oxbloods, it's more varied. Which makes it more interesting and Challenging to write for, there's more thought needed. In a live scenario, what's there not to enjoy? It's pure energy."

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Matty A: "Me, Matt and Chris we're in a band together back when we was 17, so we had known each others bands before this one. Me and Matt also knew Alex from university, which is where we decided to start this project."

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Chris: "Metallica"

Alex: "Muse"

Charlie: "Don Broco"

Matt L: "Paramore"

Matty A: "Jeff Buckley"

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Charlie: "Personal experiences mainly, instrumentally it starts with Matt, Chris and Alex. Whereas the lyrics are mainly written by myself or Alex."

6. Where was your last gig? 

Matty: "No where yet! Our first show is on June 22nd at The Castle Hotel in Manchester, though we have plenty more lined up in the coming months"

7. Where would you like to act? 

Chris: "As in play? If so, we really want to play The Ritz in Manchester very soon. Otherwise than that, we would love the chance to play festivals such as Download and Reading and Leeds."

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Alex: "Thirty Seconds to Mars or Bring Me The Horizon would be lovely."

9. Whom not? 

Matty: "No one in particular!"

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Matt: "Don't care, if you're into what you play, it'll naturally come with time and practice."

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Charlie: "Stevie Wonder, Cool and The Gang, and Tom Petty."

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Matty: "Nothing yet!"

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Matt L: "For everyone who has supported and listened to us so far, we cannot thank them enough."

14. What do you think of our site?

Chris: "Great for supporting unsigned bands!"
