Interviews: The Riff

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band The Riff from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Not too sure to be honest, think ‘The Riff’ was meant to be a temporary thing but it’s stuck! 

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Indie music is always something we as individuals listened to although we didn’t plan for any genre is just what came out.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes,  2 of us are twins so I think that answers itself ha, and our bassist (Chris) and drummer ( Tommy) were in the same school year together. 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Tommy’s is Kasabian

Bens (our front man/ guitarist) changes like the weather but he’s playing a lot of the strokes lately so I’ll say them.

I’ve got a soft spot for the stone roses and Chris is into catfish and the bottle men.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Money haha, only joking! For us it could be anything, we’ve written songs about life experiences as is the cliche but have also written songs around a nice chord structure etc. The most important thing for us is that that songs are relatable. 

6. Where was your last gig? 

Zanzibar Liverpool

7. Where would you like to perform?  

Liberty stadium! 

8. Whom would you like to perform with? 

Playing with any world class band would be good enough for us! I think we’d be happy with any one of our favourite bands.

9. Whom not? 

There’s no one in particular. From experience bands or artists on the way down or who’s careers as fizzling out can be hard work but we’d play anywhere. 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Can’t say that we have to be honest although it can’t be nothing a little bit of alcohol can’t conquer.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Obviously starting out it was the big bands around that influenced us like oasis, Kasabian, stereophonics etc, but even watching recent bands like Blossoms and the Sherlocks kicking on inspires us to keep pushing. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We haven’t had any weird requests as of yet, just the usual... signed copy of a set list or latest single...

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They’re great, loyal and growing most importantly!

14. What do you think of our site? 

Yeah it’s great!
