Interviews: Defiatory

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Trash Metal  band Defiatory from Sweden. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name Defiatory derives from the word Defiant, a good pointer to the music
and our stand regarding the ways of the world.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Thrash metal has always been with us while growing up even when playing in bands of other genres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Patrik Wall: Dissection
Martin: Annihilator
Ronnie: Metallica
Ludde: Gyllene Tider
Jon: Slayer and Carola

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Ronnie is inspired by Ludde and Ludde is inspired by Satan. So, in short, Satan.

6. Where was your last gig?

Studion in Umeå, Sweden.

7. Where would you like to act?

We guess by act, you refer to playing live. We aim to do a few minor tours in
Europe as soon as possible, and from there hopefully take it to bigger venues and festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Exhorder, Exodus, Testament, Kreator... the titans of the genre.

9. Whom not?

Hard to say. As long as the music fits, we don’t see a problem going with any band. Problem might be if you hit stage with bands in the size of Metallica, that the audience isn’t even interested in anything but the main act.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Martin has extreme stage fright. Have a beer or two, try and focus in on the music and not the stage and audience before going up there and everything usually takes care of itself. Once those first few riffs comes crashing from the stage, the fear evolves to energy to let loose on the crowd.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

See favorite bands...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There hasn’t been many weird requests... yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the best. Metal heads are loyal as long as you feed them good music. As long as we deliver, we know they will do the same. It’s a good way to keep focused.
