Interviews: Act Of Revenge

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore  band Act Of Revenge from Brazil. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It represents the persistence that we must have on facing obstacles and adversities that always arise along the way. That's one of the main messages the band tries to pass on to the public.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We consider ourselves a metal band and we do not pay too much attention on specific genre. Each song has its own identity but all of them preserves some kind of connection among each other and also with the band it self. For about ten years the band has been mixing several musical influences both modern and oldschool metal such as deathcore and trashmetal, so it gets hard for ourselves classify how we sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, each one of us use to play on different bands but from the same metal scene.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Bruno Prospero - Throught the Eyes of The Dead

Icaro Arthur - Nervosa

Ismar - Sepultura

Danilo - The Black Dalhia Murder

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our new EP brings themes such as censorship and cultural appropriation, criticism of our government, criticism of religions that manipulate and exploit the people.

6. Where was your last gig?

At Palco do Rock 2017, one of the largest festivals of our region. After that concert we took a break from the stages for over one year to work on our new videoclip, thart was released on June 9th and our new EP witch will be released on July 2018.

7. Where would you like to act?

During the second semester of 2018 we will tour throughout Brazilian east coast. On 2019 or 2020 we are planning to have our first European tour.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many bands we would have a blast playing with. But Project 46, Nervosa, and Ultima Theoria are awesome Brazilian bands and would definitely would be very exciting to work with them.

9. Whom not?

We dont really mind any genre of metal but we noticed there are a few bands with extreme politics ideology growing and play with them would be really against what we believe.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

It is fine to have that butterfly on the stomach feeling, but usually after the first couple songs we get involved with the crowd and things gets wild. We have never had any relevant fright episode though. To avoit getting too nervous we reherse a lot and always take care of our instruments and equipments. If the equip is working fine and we could play our instruments blindfolded, then thre is no reason to be scared.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Regarding the sound influences, it is really hard to tell because we listen not only metal but others genres including Brazilian folk music and we actually apply those concepts and rhythm to our music. But we really get inspired by bands that cames from underground scene and becomes great bands, that shows us thats ake a living from metal is possible.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Usually our crowd is not that weird, just wild (lol). But once a guy asked our guitar player for his sweaty towel.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The wildest people on this planet, and the reason we have been playing for a decade.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is a great opportunity to get to know new bands. And for the band is a precious help since most of the media will chase only big bands that really dont care about independent or underground bands. We truly appreciate your support, and we wish Breathing the Core shall live on!

15. Something add?

We would like to thank once more to Breathing the Core staff, we are really glad to have this quick chat and get to talk about our work that we really love. And we would also like to say to the new bands never to give up. Improvements commes only from hard work so put always your best effort and it will take a whyle but as long as you dont give up you will reach your dream for sure!
