Interviews: Parole Perse

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Metal band Parole Perse from Switzerland. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It came out one night simply. “We gotta call our band LostWords”, at the beginning we used the English version, then we changed it in Italian since it has a stronger meaning to us and it’s more appropriate to the band sound.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It’s a natural thing, you play what you want to play based on your influences, at that time we were in love with the old Opeth sound, we started from there! Then we developped our own sound which is a mixture bettween Death Metal and Post rock. Music is evolution, people change, bands change, even the music change by the way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes we did! We all grew up in the same area and we have been knowing each other way before forming a band!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Hard questions… let’s see:

Pino (Drummer): Rush
Carlo (Vocals/Guitars): Gojira
Pat (Bass/Back Vocals): Pantera
Piter (Guitars): Forteresse

As you see, we have different preferences!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everyday’s life: all the strugles, all the hope we have, real life situation, happyness, rage, everything that can be connected to what you feel. I (Carlo) write lyrics on what I feel using a “scientific” register: just look at the song titles; Libra and Nebula (Astronomy), 3 rd Law (Physics), Fission (Chemistry)

6. Where was your last gig?

A very special private gig at our rehearsal room, it was the prize for one of our fans who supported us during our crowdfunding campaign which was a big success for us!

7. Where would you like to act?

I think the perfect stage would be in a small/medium club where we can create a deep level of intimacy bewtten us and the audience. Of course we would love playing bigger venues, especially festivals where we could share the stage with a lot of great bands!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Well our dream would be Gojira, being their opening act would be an honor; personally I consider Gojira one of the best metal bands in this last decade. They are simply fantastic

9. Whom not?

Hard to tell, there’s always something to be learned but if I must answer I would say any pop band.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Never! The Best advise I can give is the following: No one is watching if you fuck it up or not, you are onstage to share something spacial with the audience, you must be happy and thrilled, not frightened

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

When I look back on our band, I see Opeth and old Anathema: the opened chords, the growl/clean vocal thing, then we evolved in something different even though we kept our roots Music is evolution, it’s in contact change.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One guy once asked if we could play a Britney Spears cover…..

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are quite well known in our area and I must say that they are really attentive to our sound, during the low dynamics of a songs we can perceive silence and then applauses, which is amazing!

14. What do you think of our site?

IT’s awesome, you can discover a lot of new bands and the bandcamp field is always useful, hope to get in your compilation too!
