Interviews: Lineup Rookie

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band Lineup Rookie  from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Over the last few years, as the band evolved, we've changed the name at least three times: LetGo, Kid Cape Hero, Slightly Overweight. Lineup Rookie is kind of an homage to pop punk in general. Being the underdog or the rookie was always appealing aesthetic to us. The name sounds cool, but its also a testament to our drive for our goals.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Pop Punk and Alternative seems to be where most forms of rock music meet in the middle. Each of us in the band come from such diverse musical backgrounds that I think Pop Punk just seemed natural. Listening to our music, I don't think any of us can really define it as one genre or another. Our hope is that when you listen to us, you cant really decide where we fit either.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jake, Eric, Tyrone and Lionel have known each other since high school. In 2011. Jake and Ty started making music together, playing acoustic open mics, just trying to comfortable on stage. It wasn't until about 2016 that Eric joined us on drums. We're lucky to have Lionel and Chis with us, who've just joined up within the last year.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ty - Pierce the Veil
Jake - Secret and Whisper
Lionel - Real Friends
Eric - Stick To Your Guns
Chris - Secrets

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

So far, our songs have pretty much been born from broken romantic relationships. Its easy to write about things that bring you down, especially when you're living in it. Lately though, we've been writing about other things that weigh heavy on our hearts, things that make emotional for different reasons. I think that that's what we're most excited for everyone to hear.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played an awesome small show at The Bancroft in San Diego on Oct. 19!

7. Where would you like to act?

It'd be dope to play an arena. In due time... in due time.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There's too many amazing band to pick from. We did get to play with one of our biggest group influences, Belmont, not too long ago. I think we'd all love to play with them again.

9. Whom not?

We're willing to play with anybody at this point!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

At the beginning, we all had stage fright. If you're in a band, just remember your up on stage with family. They've got you, and you've got them. Whatever happens, you guys are all in it together. If you're solo, remember that you deserve to be there on stage. Keep in mind that you earned your spot and people want you to succeed. Also, if anyone boos you, we will fight them.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

As a band, I think we've been inspired by bands like Mayday Parade, Modern Baseball, Citizen, and Panic! At The Disco

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

More music. We're still super new to the scene so it still kind of blows us away when people take a genuine interest in us after we get off stage. It means the world to us, but its still weird to hear.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Everything. They mean the world to us. Because we're still so new, we've gotten to make great personal connections with those who consistently show up. Without our fans-without people in our corner through all of this, we couldn't do what we do. Shoutout to every fan we have. We love you. Message us on Instagram and Twitter! We'd love to hear from you guys!

14. What do you think of our site?

Its a great site. You guys have done a great job of making it easy to find new music and promote some maybe lesser-known bands!

15. Something add?

- Nope. You guys are killin' it!
