Interviews: Saving Vice

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore/Metal band Saving Vice from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When we first started playing music, we all struggled with different things in our personal lives. Music is the thing that sort of drew us away from all the negativity and other vices in our lives, so we considered the band our Saving Vice, and that's how we came up with our name.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This is the genre we all grew up on, we've all loved this genre from a young age. I remember going to my first local show when I was 12 and being amazed by the fact that you don't have to be famous for people to enjoy your music. The next year I was opening up for Our Last Night at our local venue. Needless to say, we all fell in love with this genre and can't picture ourselves putting this much heart into any other genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Only two of us were actually friends before the band was formed. It all started with Robbie looking to start a band with his friend from college. They then found Zach and Chase through craigslist and heard through the local scene that Tyler had sang in previous metalcore bands so they added him to the roster as well. After a few fill in guitarist had come and gone they had Zachs lifelong friend Cody join the roster. Sam then found us through social media, and that's how we came to be Saving Vice.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Robbie - A Day To Remember
Zach - Linkin Park
Chase - A Fest For Kings
Tyler - UnderOath
Cody - Mayday Parade
Sam - From First To Last

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We take a lot of influence from the artists we listen to and the struggles we have endured. There are way to many artists to name them all but our heaviest influences are Architects, Fit For A King, Bring Me The Horizon, and Asking Alexandria.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at The Bungalow in Manchester, Nh and what an insane show that was. We played with most of the local scenes heaviest hitters right now and the turnout was amazing.

7. Where would you like to perform?

It's safe to say we all want to perform in Europe for all our fans out there. The Europe scene is so strong and we've only heard great things from our fans over there.

8. Whom would you like to share the stage with?

There's so many to name between all of us, but a common ground for all of us would probably be Don Broco.

9. Whom not?

Weezer. Just doesn't make sense in any world.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think we all do a little but once we're actually on stage in front of everyone it all goes away and we are the happiest people. My best piece of advice on this subject is to just practice your set and routine so much that everything is just second nature, with confidence comes great results.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are way too many bands that inspire each one of us but common ground would be Architects and Asking Alexandria.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well, we were all asked to sign an inflatable pickle at Warped Tour. That's definitely up there.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the absolute GREATEST. We are so thankful for each and every one of them. We go out of our way to try and respond and engage with all of them. We set out to write music that touches peoples lives in hopes it will help them get through the hard times, just like our favorite bands did and still do for us.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love your site, not only does it give us a chance to find bands we might not find on other platforms, but it also showcases mostly my favorite genre of bands.

15. Anything to add?
