Interviews: Bang Bang Firecracker

Share:

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band Bang Bang Firecracker from UK. Enjoy it!

1.Where did you get the idea for the name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name comes from A Pound Bakery Sandwich! I was out with Shaun Lowe, the guy who recorded and produced the album - the working name for the project was originally "Toxic Obsession" - I saw the sandwich and thrust it at Shaun! The name stuck from that moment.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?
I've always loved Metal music & i've played in a lot of heavy bands over the years. I've played Thrash, Metalcore, Screamy Groove, Nu-Metal and been in numerous Rock covers bands too. Bang Bang Firecracker takes elements of some of these styles but is maybe more accessible than a lot of bands i've been in previously.

3. Who else plays on the record?

Marcus Wrench, Bass.  Charlie Cooper, Drums.  Russ Gwynne, Drums (Final 2 tracks of the album) Shaun Lowe, Keys on intro.

4. Who are your favourite bands?

I couldn't pin it down to a single band - so AC/DC, WASP & Anthrax have all been go-to bands for me over the years.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Real life experiences, Relationships & Politics occasionally... I feel more inspired to write in the winter when its cold. There are less distractions and my mind feels clearer. I also tend to write when i'm p*ssed off. I can channel that energy and use it creatively.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are a brand new band, so we'll be gigging to promote the album around late spring/summer time 2019.

7. Where would you like to play?

I'd really like to open a BIG event, like Bloodstock!

8. Who would you like to support?

Anthrax

9. Who not?

The Spice Girls... Scratch that - actually i'd LOVE to open for The Spice Girls too! Bang Bang Firecracker, The Spice Girls, Anthrax !!! What a show that would be \m/

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think its good to be slightly nervous. It shows your human and serious about what you do. My advice would be to embrace that Adrenalin and relax as much as you can during that first song! A JD & coke always helps too!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

AC/DC, GnR, Shotgun Messiah, Anthrax, Slayer.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Sex with their wife.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I think its amazing that people enjoy the music I make and that they they will take time to come to see the band. I'd never take that for granted and I always find time to answer messages & talk to anyone after a gig.

14. What do you think of our site?

It looks great! Its amazing that you work so closely with unsigned bands too!

15. Something to add?
