Interviews: SABER TIGER

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Power Metal/Metal band SABER TIGER from Japan. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Inspired by classic Sci-Fi comic book titled "Saber Tiger". I also liked the image of "Smilodon", the saber-toothed cat.    

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

I was playing trumpet in the school brass band. Back then, classic was the only music I know. When I first listened to Deep Purple, I noticed what I really should do.    

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

SABER TIGER has been active for over 37 years and I am the only founding member. Our bassist, Hibiki and drummer Yasuhiro Mizuno wasn't even born when I formed this band.    

4. Each band member favourite band?  

My favorite band is Pagan's Mind.    

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Images and visions I receive from Sci-Fi movies.    

6. Where was your last gig?  

We are now touring Japan to promote our brand new album "Obscure Diversity".    

7. Where would you like to act?  

We are now planning next European tour in 2019.    

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Brain Storm and DGM.    

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Yes I do. You can't beat it. Just get used to it.    

10. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Robert Fripp and Lemmy.    

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

"Marry me".    

12. What do you think of your fans?   

Simply thankful.
