Interviews: NEX

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band NEX from Poland. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

The name of the band came out naturally as our former guitarist Sova was a huge fan of Death and Nex is nothing more than Death in latin language.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

Because it is powerful. We could put our anger into it and then just get back to our lives. Then again You grow up at some point and so does the music You play. I think that the music we have created on The World Collapses is already more “mature” than what we used to create. This genre is also a way of letting our voices be heard on what is happening nowadays.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

No we did not. I moved to Szczecin from Warsaw and contact Sova as he left note on the internet saying that he was looking for a members to a newly formed band. Not so long after that Sylwek, our first bass player, joined us. The last one to form “original” Nex squad was Brooda.

The band went through some changes though. Yesterday we have presented our new Guitarist and Vocalist – Przemek Exile Bachaj. The newest lineup presents this way:

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Exile – Ulcerate

Beton – Marduk

Brooda – Black Sabbath

Nomad - Pantera

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Humanity and environment.

6. Where was your last gig? 

In Szczecin. It was awesome and there was around 150 people. One of our biggest shows yet. 

7. Where would you like to act? 

I don’t know about the rest of the band but my personal dream is to play in Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Here again – I do not know about the guys but my dream is to play with Gojira.

9. Whom not? 

Here, I guess, we would all agree that disco-polo is not our “target”. (Laughs)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

I guess we all did. Some people jump around to let the stress go away, some need to talk, the others try to stay alone and focus on what is about to come. My advice is to practice with band as often as you can – it helps you stay calmer as your muscle memory do the rest if You are afraid and “forget” what to play.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

As for Nex music– definitely Gojira, Decapitated, Vader, Cynic, Misery Index, Lamb of God.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We have broken a stage electric fan and after the show a fan asked us if we could give it to him… So we did. We hope it serves him well. (Laughs)

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They are the best people in the whole world!
