Interviews: LOUNA

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Punk Rock/Hard Rock/Rock band LOUNA from Russia. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

It came from Lou´s name. The full name is Lousine and it means «moon» which is «luna» on Russian. So these two parts of different words have been connected in one – Louna.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

For us it's not just a genre. It's deeper and wider. Many different musical ideas generate in our 5 hearts and minds that we put together into Louna’s songs. We think that our sound, lyrics and vocal melodies are pretty original.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Lou and Vit knows each other since 2004. They were the members of Tracktor Bowling, their previous band that is known as one of the pioneers of new metal in Russia. Leonid, the drummer, was familiar to them from his many other projects and bands. They got together with Serj and Rouben when they were looking for musicians while forming a new band in 2008.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Linkin Park, System of a Down, Metallica, Halestorm, Walls of Jericho

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Life, the world around us.

6. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere. We would love to travel the world as musicians, not only explore it from a tourist side.

7. Whom would you like to feature with? 

It’s a good question, maybe Q number 4?

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

We're performing on stage for a very long time so we kinda used to it. For example, Lou has started singing in public when she was 4,5 years old so she doesn't worry at all.

10. What bands have inspired you the most? 

There are so many of them, from metal to pop. But nowadays we find inspiration for creating music within ourselves.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

It's hard to remember but the most popular thing they ask for is to make a video-greeting for someone. And we don't really like it because it seems weird to us.

12. What do you think of your fans? 

They are our friends. All together we create one big community, we are Louna.
