Interviews: Across The Dawn

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Across The Dawn from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Hi, this is Josh, thanks for the interview! Across the Dawn was a name that I had in mind before we decided on the band name. It is a name that resembles a new beginning and what waits for you beyond that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We love a lot of the 80s and 90s music and like to mix electronic elements in it to have a wider spectrum of sound. We like the mood and feeling that we can give by adding electronics and synthesizers to a raw rock sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, three of us in the band went to school together actually. Our guitarist and drummer knew each other from back when they were younger when they used to skateboard together. There were others involved in Across the Dawn too. My cousin Johnny and I began Across the Dawn together and he was a large part of the creation of a lot of the music on our album. Our friend Derek did drums to a lot of the songs on the album that we just released and he is a long time friend. Derek’s cousin Brandon was in the band for a while and is on the album. He has been one of my best friends for my entire life.

4. Each band member favorite band?

That is an impossible question haha. We love Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Stabbing Westward, Korn, 30 Seconds to Mars, Our bassist Mike has a music project called Scario Bros. and they are geniuses, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, There is an artist who has an electronic/ rock project called The Anix that is incredible. There are so many to mention!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The things we all go through in life is what inspires us to write songs. The songs are meaningful and are very personal to us. One of the main reasons Across the Dawn exists is to make music that people can connect and relate to and we want to help people if they are going through struggles in life.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was our album release show at an amazing venue called Bar None in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, United States.

7. Where would you like to perform?

It would be great to perform in different cities across the world!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

We have the opportunity to perform with many talented artists where we are from in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and it would be great to go on tour together! We would love to perform with bands we have listed as some of our favorites who have been such a large part of our lives!

9. Whom not?

Anyone who doesn’t have respect for other artists.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright doesn’t really exist much to us anymore because we just do what we do and it is who we are on stage. We also have been doing this for a long time. When it comes to overcoming stage fright, believing in yourself and what you do is the most important thing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The bands that we mentioned earlier as some of our favorites!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

There are not too many weird situations yet that I can remember right now but someone was pretty drunk before and was hugging us quite a lot on stage haha

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the most important part! We love them!

14. What do you think of our site?

It is a great site to find new music. It is well designed too!

15. Something to add?

We just released our first album on June 1st, 2019. You can find us on our website at www.acrossthedawn.com and on social media. Thank you for taking the time to read our interview and thank you for Breathing the Core for having us!
