Interviews: TIRADE

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Tirade from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name really stemmed from Jake having a bit of an epiphany in the shower, he was just mulling over what the topics of our songs were and at the time they were pretty much just angry rants. He just thought of another word for an angry rant and TIRADE just came to mind and has stuck since!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all have different musical backgrounds but feel that this genre really sits in the middle of what we're all into; of course we love bands that have been in the scene like Lower Than Altlantis and Don Broco that are alt-rock but have that edge to them that makes them unique; we tried to follow this formula and bring in anything ranging from 80's pop-funk to metalcore to freshen it up. It does help that this genre is really fun to play too!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jake and Josh met in college but we all actually met in university which was really lucky as we're from different parts of the country; we live together now though and are bandmates and friends forever <3 u="">

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ste: Enter Shikari, I've been a fan since my school days and they were the first band I saw properly live, they are absolutely amazing!

Josh: Don Broco is my current favourite, I love the way they have a heavy rock sound with intricacies while still keeping current, these guys are so smart with how they write and really influence oursongwriting in TIRADE.

Jake: I love newer bands like Don Broco as well but I would have to say that the band that has really stuck with me for a good long while is Fallout Boy.

Alex: My favourite band currently is Microwave, they recently played slam dunk festival and were an absolute joy to watch!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We think that our interest in music really inspires us of course but writing these tracks is a real release for us, we get to vent any issues or hard times that we've had or are having in the best way possible which is writing the music and performing it live.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at a venue in Manchester called Gullivers NQ, it's a great little venue in the Northern Quarter and is always a fun gig.

7. Where would you like to play?

The aim is to be up on the main festivals in the UK, Slam Dunk has always been a big dream of ours to play and hopefully we'd fit in pretty well there.

8. Who would you like to support?

We all have different opinions on this but some of the bands we would love to support are Don Broco, Enter Shikari, Vukovi and of course Neck Deep for those insane crowds!

9. Who not?

There isn't really a band we outright wouldn't like to support if we had to say one though we think it would be TIRADE; we heard those guys don't like us.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We've all suffered from this many times before and a lot of the time, it's because we're playing on a bill with amazing openers and sometimes watching them absolutely smash it can be daunting. We would say to anyone to "remember your training"; what we mean is anything that was done in rehearsal can be done exactly the same in a live setting. Try not to dwell on any musicians you might think were better; if anything they have got the crowd pumped up with their performance.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Lower Than Atlantis, Don Broco, Enter Shikari, VUKOVI, Press to MECO & Boston Manor are some of the main influences but we all bring other genres to the table from our own tastes.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Luckily we haven't had anything too weird just yet, we, of course, get asked for small things like picks, broken strings and drumsticks but I think we are well overdue on a weird request, we'll get back to you on that one!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are one of the main reasons we put our music out there, we struggled a lot recently with our transition from uni to working and being in a band and the one thing that keeps us going is their support; to any of our fans reading this, we love you guys!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think the site is a really cool place for people to catch up on any of their favourite artists and look into newer bands that may not necessarily appear on all the major platforms as related artists. It's also a great place for us bands to not only show off the music but also give an insight to who we are and how we work!

15. Something to add?

We'd just like to thank everyone for their continued support to us as a band, without this we wouldn't be where we are today. If you like what you see, come and check us out on the road with Donnie Willow from the 23rd to the 28th July, all details are on our socials!
