Interviews: Say Never

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Say Never from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Jonathan: I came up with the name Say Never because everyone always doubted that I would be playing music for a living.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Jonathan: All I know is Rock n Roll.

Paul: Musicians typically try to play the type of music that they grew up on or like to listen to. Say Never was started by myself and Jonathan, and his vocal style kind of determines our genre.

Rick: I love all styles of music but this genre just fits my everyday mood. I get excited by music that has balls and chunk.

Ben: I have been a fan of rock and metal music since I was first exposed to it as a kid from my older brother blasting kiss and Aerosmith records!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jonathan: We have all been involved in other projects around town.

Paul: Our paths have crossed through the years.

Rick: I had many mutual friends and word got to me that they were looking for a drummer. Jonathan reached out to me and sent a couple tunes over and I loved what I heard. We got together and the rest is history.

Ben: Jonathan and I were in a band previously, and I met Paul at a benefit show in Rome, GA. when he was playing with a previous band there the same night as Jonathan and myself.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Jonathan: Seether

Paul: This is a very difficult question for me to answer, it really depends on my mood. Alice In Chains if I’m being forced to choose.

Rick: This is an extremely, almost impossible, question but Rush is up there on my list.

Ben: Always a hard question because I have so many! Lately, I've been really into Fozzy and their Judas Album! Also a HUGE Sevendust fan!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Jonathan: Life in general

Paul: Personal experiences seems to trigger song ideas.

Ben: Inspirations can come from anywhere, experiences in life etc. My latest song idea came to me in a dream. I recorded it quickly when I woke up so I wouldn’t forget the idea. Turned out to be a really good idea.

6. Where was your last gig?

Jonathan: Say Never opened for the legendary Artimus Pyle

Ben: Artimus Pyle and friends including Rich Ward, Chris Jericho, Billy Grey and a load of other great musicians! It was an honor to open a show filled with such talent!

7. Where would you like to act?

Jonathan: In porn.

Ben: I've always wanted to make a horror film. I've written out a few script ideas, so maybe one day.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Jonathan: Sean Morgan from Seether.

Paul: Jerry Cantrell from AIC.

Rick: I was extremely jazzed to have Billy Grey from Fozzy play with us opening for Artimus Pyle from Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Ben: One actor I have a lot of respect for and would be honored to work with is Keanu Reeves.

9. Whom not?

Jonathan: Any “Bro Country” artists. lol

Ben: I love collaborating on creative arts and music! I looked at this question for a good 5 mins not able to answer!

10. Have you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Jonathan: Not really. When I go on stage I'm in my zone.

Paul: I normally don’t have any stage fright. Bad shows and screw-ups happen to us all. As long as you are well prepared, walking on stage should feel natural.

Ben: We've all played plenty of stages and had audiences of all sizes so we love to give a high energy show live.

Tips: Be yourself and relax -- let all of the hyped-up energy out on the stage. Don't worry about trying to be someone else, just be YOU and OWN IT!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Jonathan: Seether, Deftones, and Nirvana.

Paul: Guns n Roses, The Charlie Daniels Band, Alice In Chains, Slipknot and The Beatles.

Ben: Alice in Chains is a big inspiration for me. I love the old stuff with Layne, but also totally love the new stuff with William! He's very underrated IMHO! Really talented band as a whole.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Paul: My empty water cup. Weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Jonathan: Best people in the world.

Paul: I feel extremely grateful to anyone who calls themselves our fan.

Ben: So thankful to have fans and appreciate EVERY single person that shows us support or comes out to shows etc. We've been extremely blessed to have amazing fan support for Say Never. Our Say Never Army Rocks!!

14. What do you think of our site?

Jonathan: Great way for bands to get the exposure they need.

Paul: Fantastic source for discovering new bands.

Ben: Your website is awesome for checking out new bands and learning a little bit about them. Always cool to have people supporting newer artists that rock!
