Interviews: PerfectParachutePicture

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative  Rock band PerfectParachutePicture from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We joke about weird ways we could have created the name, a tandem skydive is always the go-to where someone may have taken a Perfect-parachute-picture, but really it was the random alliteration and absolutely no sense that it made, that drew us to it. We still love it today.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't necessarily want to play a specific genre but we have always been influenced by many different sub-genres of rock such as punk, garage rock, alt-rock and noise rock. This range of influences from many different bands has helped us develop our own sound and own way of doing things.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have known each other since our early school days but became good friends through our love of music towards the end of secondary school when we started playing in bands together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Kyle - Sadly no longer together, Arcane Roots are a personal favourite band of mine still to this day because I feel the lyrics written by Andrew Groves were somewhat relatable in key points of my early adulthood. I also thoroughly enjoyed the raw energy they managed so well to transfer from life to records in the earlier albums.

Ed - Biffy Clyro will probably always be my favourite band. They have developed massively since their earlier albums, but whatever they put out, the passion and emotion in their music always speaks to me.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We express our views on modern times and the beauty of things in life that we all experience, but also the not so good in people and the doubts that you may have of yourself in everyday life. We feel that we get a lot of inspiration in our lyrics when we look into these matters.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at a cool venue in Salford called The Eagle Inn. Check it out!

7. Where would you like to play?

We would love to have the opportunity to tour Europe in the near future. We feel it is the next step for us as a band.

8. Who would you like to support?

Currently, we're both really loving what IDLES are doing. We're huge fans of the music that they produce, the message that they put out, and their live performances really personify what they're all about. Supporting those guys would be an honour.

9. Who not?

One Direction, we're not nearly good looking enough to share that stage.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We never suffer from any kind of stage fright (unless you're talking about at the urinal then that's a completely different story!) but for some of our bigger shows, there's always a few nerves. This isn't a bad thing and you can definitely channel it into your performance. For us, it puts us right at the top of our game.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Different bands have provided us with lots of inspiration in different ways. Bands like Turbowolf, Red Fang and Death From Above 1979 really opened our eyes to riffy guitars and powerful drums, Biffy Clyro for their sheer craftsmanship, powerhouse live shows and hard work through their careers; and so many more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We still find it weird when people ask us for pictures. It's a huge compliment to us but as a band still making our way in the industry, it's always a shock.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have endless appreciation for anyone who takes the time to listen to our music, and part with their money to come to our shows and buy our music and merch. We love them all.

14. What do you think of our site?

Sites that take the time out to champion unsigned and under the radar bands provide valuable opportunities for bands to reach a wider audience, so we will always be grateful to sites such as yourselves for giving us a platform to reach a wider audience.

15. Something to add?

Our debut album 'No Modern Desire' is out physically in the UK on Friday 6th September, and digitally worldwide on Friday 13th September 2019. Order the album and its accompanying merchandise from www.perfectparachutepicture.com.
