Behind The Artworks: ITUS - Primordial (2020)

This painting was done back in 1978, by Paul Callaghan who is our guitar player’s (Brandon Lucking’s) Uncle. Callaghan intended to portray a distant, doomed planet, slowly burning and crumbling away. This painting was hanging up in Brandon’s Grandmother’s house his entire life while growing up. Later it was given to him, and now this painting hangs in Brandon’s family room. Once we played with the logo over this painting, we knew that this had to be the art we went with. The colour palette and theme of the painting really fit well with our EP “Primordial”, savage and ancient. The peaks of the mountains, the blasted sky and the bubbling landscape against the jagged edges of ITUS, scream doom.
