Interviews: I FIGHT FAIL

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Pop Punk/Post-Hardcore band I Fight Fail from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our name just kind of came about with the idea of what we want to represent and stand for. I Fight Fail is a mindset to us. Keep trying and never stop until you get to where you want to be or have achieved whatever you’ve set your mind to.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Honestly, we always have listened to alternative rock, pop, emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore music. So it’s just who we are and what we like. We always try to adapt to what’s going on and “popular” in the industry while still being us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all went to school together and we were in different bands or lineups. We’ve know each other since we were young teenagers so it’s been a long time.

4. Each band members favorite band?

We all have the a lot of the same influences but Andy’s favorite band is Brand New, Daryl’s is Blink-182/Angels & Airwaves, and Anthony’s is Bring Me The Horizon.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

When it comes to inspiration for us it literally comes from anywhere: music, movies, conspiracies, pop culture, and life. If you can think of it we have been inspired by it. We are all about vibes and creating a feeling of inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

We actually just finished a tour a couple weeks ago and ended it in Cleveland, Ohio at Stellas. It was freaking sick and we had a blast! 7. Where would you like to perform? Red Rocks amphitheater would be pretty cool just because of the natural sonic sound that’s there. An obviously Madison Square Garden would just be nuts that’s the biggest accomplishment for most artists is to sell it out. 

8. Whom would you like to play with?

There are so many bands we would love to play with obviously all our favorites that we mentioned but The 1975, Dermot Kennedy, Bellevue Days, and The Band Camino. We could literally give you a scroll filled with amazing bands we’d love to share the stage with.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?

I think when we were younger it affected us more but nowadays we love to be there so it’s comfortable. We have a saying in our band “ but once we hit that stage though.” It pretty much means once we are up there we always snap into the mindset. You always have doubts about things and what ifs, but once we hit the stage all that disappears and we just try to be in the moment.

10. Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Just have fun it’s that simple. If people see your having fun then they are going to have fun too. Try not to worry about messing up even though it can be hard. 9 times out of 10 they will never notice unless it really really bad. Also try not to show it on your face when you do cause they’ll see that and immediately know something wasn’t right.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our biggest inspirations are Brand New, Angels & Airwaves, Boxcar Racer, and Blink-182 they have kind of set the foundation for what we do. All though our sound changes you can still find aspects of these bands within our music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We would probably have to say people wanting our sweaty clothes that we just played in. I don’t think we’d ever want someone’s stinky sweaty clothes but to each is their own.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We honestly love our fans. We’ve had so many fans travel far lengths to come see us and it’s always crazy to hear that. It means the world that our music has impacted them that much to do that. Our fans have helped us in so many ways and we cannot say thank you enough for their continuous support. We love you guys!!!
