Interviews: SVEN GALI

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band SVEN GALI, from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

So the first night we met and discussed starting a band there was this movie on the tv playing in the background, we all kept an eye on it as we were talking … at the end of our meeting the topic of band names came up and our drummer said,” Sven Gali”, the movie playing on the TV… we said sure whatever.. let’s go grab a beer! Easy as that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Its what we grew up with. We used to go to a rock club in Niagara Falls called Uncle Sam’s, a great rock bar with the best chicken wings on the planet! Great rock acts used to play there so in one way it was our school….

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Andy and I grew up together and played in high school bands… Shawn, Dan, and Sean all grew up in Hamilton.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Well, I don’t think we have favourite bands? We all listen and enjoy all types of music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Sometimes we just have some music and play with melodies. from there it forms, a topic pops and off we go.

6. Where was your last gig?

New Year's Eve with I Mother Earth…

7. Where would you like to act?

We are looking forward to going back to all the cities we visited, we have friends everywhere and it will be cool to play for them again. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We really would play with anyone; festivals are a blast!

9. Whom not?

Too old for band wars!!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I had a bout with anxiety when our first record came out... I guess I was feeling pressure…. For beginners, focus on the music … it all falls into place over time and shows.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I really listen to all music, so I guess I draw from everything.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A guy fan wanted my pants??? So, I gave the fan guy my pants…..

13. What do you think of your fans?

They already know we appreciate all the support and know we will show up at the after-party.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it's great and informative, I have visited it several times to read the articles...
