Interviews: Lapsus Dei

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal band, Lapsus Dei, from Chile. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name comes from a thought that we all have in the band. The human being, since he has use of reason, since he realized his superiority over other living beings, only devoted himself to destroying the entire planet, the environment. Creating gods, laws, norms. The human being is a mistake, it should never have existed. It´s an mistake of the gods. Lapsus Dei means mistake of the gods in Latin

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

The doom metal is a very open and dynamic musical genre, which accepts all kinds of influences, an enriched music style, which gives us the possibility to experience and evolve as a band. 3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? - Rodrigo: I didn't know any of these damn bastards

4. Each band member favourite band?

Rodrigo: Pink Floyd, Draconian, Deep Purple, Opeth

Luis: Led Zeppelin, Slayer

Agustin: Dream Theater, Opeth

Alejandro: Zakk Wilde, Black Label Society

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Alejandro: Life, stories, writing about everyday life leads to the context, that inspires each song.

6. Where was your last gig?

A lot of local shows as headliners inside the country, and as co-headliner at the Cellar Darling concert (Switzerland) in Santiago de Chile sept 2019.

7. Where would you like to act?

WOA, hell yeah!!!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

A concert with Black Sabbath would be awsome, that band represents practically the whole history of heavy rock/metal

9. Whom not?

All bands are welcome, they all have something valuable to spread

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Alejandro: It's not about scenic panic, it's about what the public produces every time we play in front of them. Playing live is a tremendous challenge. They come to see us to receive what they like and we want to satisfy that desire and more, that's what it is, not turn it into a routine, surprise. And for that you have to work hard. Being really in love with what you doing, so it will not be fear, it will be emotion, it is easy to confuse emotion with fear.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Alejandro: Motorhead, Black Label Society

Rodrigo: Katatonia, Amorphis, Pink Floyd

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Alejandro: I remember a scene after playing, we went to a bar, I came to a beautiful woman who had already seen among the audience, approached me and asked if I could give her an autograph, obviously I told her not a problem. Until she lay on the bar, climbed his corset, under her jeans a little, and I said: but it is here, not on paper, !!! It was an incredible moment a classic rock!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are a fundamental pillar in our existence, and we look forward to their comments and feelings on each album we make, and each show we perform. We are family yo know.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is a great website, with all kinds of info about daily events of rock and metal. With very interesting topics that are not seen very often on other sites. Congrats!

15. Something add?

Delighted to bring a grain of sand to the world scene. We hope our new album "Sea of Deep Reflections" will be liked by the bangers. See you sometime on our tours!
