Band Biographies: Scordatura

Scottish Death Metal bruisers Scordatura from Glasgow have spent years crafting their sound to reach the perfect, bludgeoning experience which was unleashed on the world in 2013 in the form of their debut album 'Torment of The Weak'.

The band was formed in 2007 at the ages of 15-16 and they recorded their first Demo in 2008 called ‘Genocidal Maniac’ followed by another demo ‘Garrote’ demo in 2009 and an E.P called Open Skies E.P also in 2009.

In this time frame the band played countless shows including supporting many touring acts such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Nile, Cryptopsy, Aborted, Misery Index and many more!

In 2011 the band recorded a 2 track demo simply called ‘Demo 2011’ featuring the songs Visceral Disembowlement & Back to Crack. This is where the sound of the band started to mature and was a preview to show what was to come of their debut album.

In late 2012 their debut album ‘Torment of The Weak’ was recorded and it was self released by the band in February 2013 and the album features eight blistering tracks of pure Death Metal which was received acclaim from fans, bands and labels alike. The album was mixed by Scott Fuller of Abysmal Dawn and mastered by Fuller and Max Karon.

Throughout 2013 and 2014 the band went to play many shows around the U.K with bands such as Malignancy, Defeated Sanity, Blood Red Throne, Iniquity & Nile. The band would also end up playing a ripping set at Bloodstock on the ‘New Blood Stage’ and also toured Europe for the first time including making an appearance at the Berlin Deathfest.

In 2015 more new material was written and the band recorded and released a 2 track promo called ‘Confessions Inscribed’ which was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy at The Grid, Canada.

More shows continued throughout 2015 including a U.K tour with Syn:drom from Sweden and also another European tour took place in April 2016 with Necrosis reaching out to countries like France, Belgium, Switzerand, Italy and Holland.

In Summer 2016 Scordatura signed to the label ‘Gore House Productions’ and recorded their 2nd album ‘Self Created Abyss’. The album was released in early 2017.

In 2017 the band had kicked off its busy tour schedule in promotion of their "highly anticipated" second album entitled 'Self-Created Aybss'.

Set to be released via Gore House Productions on March 24th.
