Interviews: Kill The Imposter

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Deathcore band, Kill The Imposter, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name basically means “kill” everything that is fake or untrue in the world or in your life ( fake people, ideas, everything that has no significant meaning to you or your life).

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all have different music styles and backgrounds but this type of music is easiest for us to express our ideas and emotions and accomplish our main goal: GET THE PEOPLE MOVING.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

All 5 of us have either played a show with each other or come across each other's paths somewhere and sometime in the last few years whether it be seeing a show at the same venue or being on the same lineup with each other's older projects.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Wilson: Beartooth, Motionless in White ,Slaughter to Prevail

Johnny: Days in Daze, Sum 41, Spite

Nick: Whitechapel, Lamb of God, Sevendust

Danny: Chelsea Grin, Jamiroqui, Death

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We take inspiration from everything: everyday life, past experiences, random riffs and ideas we come up with together, It's really easy when one of us has an idea and we take it and run with it, Get a good guitar riff, get the drums grooving, add the lyrics, and polish it off with a nasty breakdown.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was kind of a secret show at the Blue Note in Tampa, FL.

7. Where would you like to act?

Like many places, states, festivals, and countries as possible.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail would be an amazing feature.

9. Whom not?

Anyone that doesn’t really fit our genre. We need deep, guttural vocals for our songs and if it doesn't meet that criteria it's not going to work out for us.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes. Plenty of times. Usually the bigger venues and bigger crowds really bring out the stage fright. For beginners we would say to just take a deep breath, relax, and just enjoy the show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All the bands we’ve grown up with and grown to love. Everything from the hardcore stuff to classic rock and roll to even blues and classical music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Everything has been pretty normal... (guitar picks, drum sticks, t-shirts)..., we have been asked to sign some abnormal things though. We leave it to your imagination!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing, and die hard, and we love them. We love seeing them move in the pit to our songs and throwing down as hard as possible. When we look up from the stage and everyone is going crazy and losing their minds, throwing kicks and punches in the pit. Just brings out a happiness that is indescribable.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is pretty rad! There are a lot of good bands and artists there.

15. Something add?

Yes. The next chapter of KILL THE IMPOSTER is a lot of touring. We are also attempting to release new content every month. But our ultimate goal is a lil' global domination mixed with handshakes and hugs and more global domination... Oooh and high-fives!!!
