Interviews: Pressure

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Rock/Rock band, Pressure from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We wanted the name to connect to the music and what we do! The name of the band is really important to us. Pressure is what its all about! The name describes our music! Our mission with our music is to help everyday people around the world to overcome and embrace the pressures felt from everyday existence. We want them to use our music as tools to be able to aid them in their life. Our lyrics show that there are two sides to every story – the good and the bad. Every song has a double meaning.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This is the music that we feel we can project our feelings and our strong message into! We feel that we need something that involves a lot of energy but with the possibility to really make it our own. Todays metal is really strong, and we are trying to make our own version of it. We try to mix in a bit of different genres! There is a lot of metal in our songs, but also other genres as folk music and a touch of punk rock!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No not all of us, Simon And Emil knew each other before Pressure and has been playing in other bands together, When Olof joined, Pressure was formed!

4. Each band member favourite band?

This is kinda hard. Simon is liking things by the day, if you ask him one day it will be one artist or band and if you ask him the next day it will be something totally different. Olof is liking hard hitting stage names as Sabaton and Volbeat and Emil had a hard time choosing haha!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything. The songs are so important to us. We try to get inspiration from everything and everyone around us. But most from ourselves. You have to dare to live life to be able to tell true stories from life. You must have felt the Pressures around you to be able to really pour your soul into it. So you can say that Pressures around us inspires us to write!

6. Where was your last gig?

We played a live stream gig when we last released our new single Beaten But Not Dead!

7. Where would you like to perform?

Everywhere! We cannot stress this enough. A show is a show if its for 5 people or 5000. The best shows are the one you can connect with the audience and really move someone, when you hear people singing your songs after the show. Then you really feel that you have succeeded to reach them!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Anyone who takes their music seriously, real musicians who means what they do and have a good message, or a true message! We love to have music experiences and to feel what other bands and artists do. But Yeah, but us up with the big four then! haha

9. Whom not?

We do not like “productized” artists. Much music today has been taken away from true artists and made just a product. Looks and age are more important than talent. We want to perform with real musicians and real talents. Bring back music to musicians and the products can take their acts somewhere else.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think most musicians do. Its really common. You will feel a bit terrified! Are the audience going to like you? Have you chosen the right songs? Are you going to break a guitar string in the middle of that important solo? The truth is that you have to find you own way of dealing with it. In the band Simon often walks alone just before a show, shielding himself from everything and trying to connect with his inner self. The others tries to talk, laugh, or do whatever little ritual they have. I think most musicians have rituals and things to do. Its natural. The best tips to give a new performing artist is just to Dare, go out there, use the fear, use the anxiety. Fuel yourself with it! And from there, go on and be the best you! These feelings are strong and you will be able to perform even better.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Everyone that makes good music. Its hard to say because we don’t have a goto artist or band that we are inspired the most of. We love musicians who really goes into their music. Look at Steven Tyler living in his lyrics. Look at Freddie Mercury, look at Angus Young or anyone who has been to hell and back! We simply cannot get enough of those kinds of performers. We love them!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hmmm.... Is it safe to say? Hahaha, well, in between a show, one of the band was really hot, sweaty and yeah, he had to change clothes, A girl quickly said that she could help him change, because she loved the smell of stage sweat... That’s a strange story! But kinda fun! Another one was that a fan asked us to play at their wedding, this sounds normal, but the request came 3 days before the show and were 500 miles away. Of course we packed our van and went!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are our life, our blood and our soul. We cannot live without their fantastic support! We are the biggest fans of our fans!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great! My favorite section is the countries tab. Its fun to browse and see and discover bands from different countries. There are so much music you have not heard and that’s a good source of inspiration!

15. Something to add?

We always have things to add! Haha, Nah, thank you for the opportunity to talk! I want to express the importance for you all to stay safe during this hard times so we all can meet again, out on the Road and have a BLAST! Love and ROCK! There are a lot of things going on. We are releasing a Christmas song soon and then next year we will release our first full album, containing of both Swedish and English songs. There is also a couple of singles more to come! So stay tuned!
