Interviews: Bury Me Alive

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band, Bury Me Alive from Austria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We we‘re acting in the Studio while writing our first album with a previous name. While getting further into the project and some changes in the plan we decided to go a new way and buried the old thing to get the best out of a new project. Bury Me Alive was born

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Over the past 2 decades the music industry has changed dramatically, with bands being labelled an array of “Metal” names. Essentially we all came together because of the emotion, power and love of metal music, then found that “MetalCore” and “Post-hardcore” fit our music the best.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us have known each other for a very long time, some more recent. Our group dynamic is very open, confident and most importantly hard working and ambitious. Which in turn has kept us a tight-knit band and also very good friends.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Dominik: Hands like Houses

Chibi: Spiritbox

Alex: Eskimo callboy

Alessandro: Parkway Drive

Gav: Soulfly

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Who: Mother Nature, What: Everything that happens on it. Both our albums have been written to raise awareness about the world we live in, global warming, natural disasters and the more recent pandemic with lockdowns and quarantine. Not so much focusing on the negativity, but telling people to stay strong as one or as a family, we are still Alive and should get our voices heard!

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was the beginning of this year. It was near our hometown after a very successful mini-tour of Germany. With the current corona situation this year, we have been focusing on our album release and building up our online presence.

7. Where would you like to act?

We are really looking forward to getting back in our music room and practicing our stage show for ANY gig that comes our way. But we would most definitely love to do a tour of the USA and a full Europe tour.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

David Hasselhoff for sure, he never fails to entertain and put smiles on people faces in whatever he does...hopefully we can get him featured on our next album.

9. Whom not?

We would be honestly happy and grateful for anyone who would want to perform/write or feature with us on anything we do.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Quite the opposite actually, we are all very hyped backstage before a gig. A tip would be to ALWAYS warm up, which ever instrument you play, plan a good 10 minutes before a gig where it’s just you: stretching, practicing, warming up your fingers/arms/legs and vocals.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like Parkway drive, Bury Tomorrow, Imminence, Bring me the horizon and Fit For A king have given us a lot of inspiration throughout the years, but also local bands like our brothers in Vertilizar and We Blame The Empire, all of whom support each other greatly and inspire us to be the best we can.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our fans are amazing people and have never done or said anything “weird”, but personally, (Gav-drummer) I did get a fan wanting me to sign the drumstick I threw into the crowd, then her T-shirt, then her chest. Wasn’t particularly weird, but cool nonetheless.

13. What do you think of your fans?

As stated above, they are amazing people. We wouldn’t be doing what we are doing today if it wasn’t for their constant support and love. We really can’t wait to play for you all soon.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s a excellent way for upcoming/big bands and artists alike to show themselves to a massive crowd and get their name out into the world. So we thank you again for this amazing opportunity.

15. Something to add?

With the new year just around the corner, We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, stay strong, stay safe and thank you profusely for all the love and support you have shown us over the last difficult year. All the best!
