Interviews: Mud Factory

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Groove Metal/Death Metal band, Mud Factory from Serbia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We want to skip this question if possible, thanks. (don’t put this in the interview please )

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Nemanja: We didn’t, at least not at the beggining. Our idea was to play some kind of stoner-sludge, but that didn’t last long. Things got faster and more aggresive one rehearsal after another, so the genre we play now (whatever genre that is) came natural, all by itself. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Nemanja: Most of us, yes. We met Vanja almost two years after we started the band. We parted ways with our drummer at the time, Vanja came like a replacement and stayed ever since. Chain of events was tricky on that one, but we’ll talk about that another time. 

4. Each band member favourite band?

Vanja: We listen to a lot of music of different kinds and it gets harder every day to pick only one band, so I recommend taking a look at question number 11.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Nemanja: I think we inspire each other. One good riff is enough to start the fire, so we build on that. 

Vanja: Music of all kinds and love and passion for what we do.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Nemanja: I have no fucking idea. 

Vanja: It was a small festival in Serbia, a year ago... I really hope we wouldn’t have to wait that much until the next one... ! 

7. Where would you like to act?

Nemanja: Royal Albert Hall. 

Vanja: Wacken, Metaldays, Ressurection Fest, Brutal Assault, Hellfest... 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Nemanja: While She Sleeps. 

Vanja: Definitely them, I think if we joined our energies together, it would be a show to remember! But also Gojira, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive... 

9. Whom not? 

Nemanja: Absolutely no one. We love to play whenever, wherever (Shakira song playing in background). 

Vanja: I agree. We played after folk singers in Serbia and we don’t mind any crowd and place.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Nemanja: I think not. 

Vanja: Everyone has that on first couple of gigs, but I’m sure none of us had stage freight since then.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Deftones, Mastodon, While She Sleeps, Architects, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Gojira, Hatebreed, Carnifex, Whitechapel, Pantera, Alice in Chains ...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Nemanja: Our singer Stefan has the weirdest requests. We usually get asked for picks and sticks (haha)

Vanja: I remember when we made our first flag to hang on stage while we play and after the first crazy gig, a fan asked our singer if he can have it and he just said – yeah, sure. We didn’t have it since then, but we did laugh a lot (hahah)

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Nemanja: Scumbags. We love you. 

Vanja: I think they are amazing and I want to unite all of them and record the whole concert, as soon as these fucked up times settle down a bit. 

14. What do you think of our site?

Nemanja: Great! 

Vanja: Nice place to find some new bands to listen to!
