Interviews: SPOILER

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore / Nu-Metal / Deathcore / Beatdown / Hardcore band, SPOILER from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Chris (guitars) came up with it & it just clicked.

2 .Why did you want to play this genre?

We’ve all come from various backgrounds, from Punk, Hardcore & Metalcore to Deathcore. The majority also grew up listening to Nu Metal, and wanted to combine all of these influences into one.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Three of us played in a band before, and we met Will (Guitars/Production) when the first seeds of the band were sown. It was another 6 months until we found our frontman Aaron.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Jack - Enter Shikari

Danny - Deftones

Will - Architects

Chris - Slipknot

Aaron - Despised Icon

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We’ve all got a range of influences and inspirations but I think we all agree we use music as a way to get through the hardships of life. We always have music to fall back on as way of expressing ourselves and letting loose.

6. Where was your last gig?

Due to forming during the pandemic we are yet to play live.

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to take SPLR across the world, Europe, America, Australia. You name it, we want to play it!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I’ve recently got into Spiritbox, so would love to feature Courtney LaPlante on a track; her vocal range is insane!

9. Whom not?

I don’t think there’s anyone we wouldn’t feature... I think Will would enjoy the challenge of making any artist feature work in the SPLR Sound.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

The rest of us don’t really suffer from stage fright or nerves, but Chris says “I can get nervous before shows; Best thing I find is fucking off my own half hour before a show and just go play guitar , play through tunes to get focused and in the mind set. Always worked for me”

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The old school Nu Metal scene, KoRn, Slipknot etc are massive influences, alongside more modern bands like Alpha Wolf.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don’t really have any stories like this to tell yet!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We can’t believe the support we have received from our debut single. We’re so thankful to everyone who’s chosen to join us at the start of this ride.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s great to have a site where so many likeminded individuals can bond over a joint love of music.
