Behind The Artworks: PONTUS - Black Hole Bbq (2021)

As I was working on the concept of Black Hole BBQ, my friend Maayan Gutterman was inspired by the imagery and came up with the idea of the planet. The planet's texture is taken from organic moving liquid. Once I landed on the title it became clear that this planet was going to be red and burning. Originally we had used a generic star background but as we were designing, the NASA Hubble program published the Hubble Legacy Field image. This amazing image has over 265000 different galaxies present and you can see back in time over 13 billion years. We were immediately captivated by the details and incorporated the massive resolution image into the album art. For the font we went with a clean sci-fi inspired look.
