Interviews: Dead Soul Revival

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Post-Grunge band, Dead Soul Revival from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

A little of both. We wanted something that described being at a low point in your life and rising again to your true potential.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This is the kind of music that speaks to us. We like to bring in different elements to create something that hopefully is unique.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Scott and I were in Freakhouse for many years together and Kendall is my wife.

4. Each band member favourite band?

For me it’s KISS, Scott would be Manson or Zombie. For Kendall Type O Negative. 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lots of things I suppose. But, we really don’t think about it like that. It’s not an A to B progression. It is more like an idea that pops into your head and then you come up with new parts to compliment that. It’s like a puzzle with different solutions for solving it.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are a brand new band, so with the pandemic, we haven’t played any shows yet.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to tour internationally. Europe would be great.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I assume you mean play live with. Bands that are a good match for us musically. We’ve played with bands that were too different from us before and that hasn’t worked very well. Not in the United States at least.

9. Whom not?

Basically any band with a bad attitude. Life is too short for drama at a rock show. We’ve played with a few bands like this and they tend to bring the whole party to a screeching halt.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Sure, but not to a point where it shut us down or anything. Nothing that a shot of Jager won’t solve. As far as tips I think it helps if you put the focus on the audience. Get out of your own head and focus on giving the audience what they came for.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There is a long list but like I was saying before, KISS, Type O Negative, and White Zombie immediately come to mind. We love music and have pulled bits and pieces from all kind of artists.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The first thing that comes to mind is a loan. I check credit scores though...

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are great! We are nothing without them.
