Interviews: 30 Immolated; 16 Returned

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Avant-Garde Metal band, 30 Immolated; 16 Returned from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name 30 immolated ; 16 returned is taken directly from D.A.F. de Sade’s book The 120 Days Of Sodom. It represents a tally of the victims who died and those who were worth keeping alive longer as slaves for the libertines.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I grew up listening to death metal and my life’s goal has been to combine modern classical music and death metal into grotesqueries. I have always gravitated towards more extreme genres of music and finding my own way to synthesize them made sense to me.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Father Bones (drums and vocals) and Dr. Death (guitar and lead vocals) are brothers, Madame Champville (Lead guitar and vocals) and Dr. Death are married, and Disgusting Smith (bass and vocals) was our neighbor for a few years. Before joining the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Dr. Death: Morbid Angel

Father Bones: Strapping Young Lad

Disgusting Smith: Negative Plane

Madame Champville: Portal

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The sadistic tales of the Marquis de Sade.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Doors Pub in Hamilton, ON

7. Where would you like to act?

Wherever fresh victims abound.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Portal, Imperial Triumphant, Cannibal Corpse, Liturgy, Psyopus.

9. Whom not?

Yoko Ono

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

A little bit, not too much anymore. Best way to beat it is to be 100% invested in your act and sell it to the audience. It really helps to think of performing as an outlet, as a means to express that repressed side of yourself. You can be anyone you want on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Pantera, Bela Bartok, Ion Dissonance, Bela Bartok, Stravinsky, Cryptopsy.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No strange requests per se, more strange behavior. Perhaps the strangest to anyone other than us would be a fan asking if we had any shit cookies left.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Not enough of them yet to make an informed statement but the few we do have are die-hards that are addicted to the bizarre and ask thought-provoking questions.

14. What do you think of our site?

Love the Variety of genres you guys include! Keep supporting the metal, you guys rock!

15. Something to add?

Live life according to the desires of Lady Nature. Sex, crime and murder, all please her greatly for they drive us ever faster into her unforgiving arms.
