Interviews: THE SPIDER ACCOMPLICE

We have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band THE SPIDER ACCOMPLICE from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In mythology, the spider represents feminine creativity. I'd always felt like there was a little spider in my brain, spinning webs that would become song...it's my tiny spider accomplice. The name came from that idea.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Arno and I found that as we wrote together, our songs became more cinematic and guitar-driven. We didn't necessarily set out to write in a certain genre, the music we wrote just lent itself to symphonic hard rock/metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we were in a band together previous to The Spider Accomplice.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

That's hard to say; we each love many bands and artists. Arno especially likes the classics: Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, etc. I adore The Killers, Halestorm, etc.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

EVERYTHING! Life is full of song material, if you pay attention. It's in the pain and the joys and in every moment.

6. Where was your last gig?

Just recently, we played a small show at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood to get back into the post-COVID swing of things.

7. Where would you like to act?

We really just love being onstage, wherever that is. Any venue can host a magical night; it's all what you bring to the show!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to write and sing with Brandon Flowers, Amy Ray, and Melissa Etheridge. A duet with Tommy Karevik or Dave Gahan would be amazing.

9. Whom not?

I wouldn't want to play with an act that I couldn't bring something to. I'm open to all genres of music, but if I felt that my voice or words wouldn't make a song better, then I wouldn't want to be on it.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We're very fortunate in that we don't really have stage fright; we can hardly wait to get up there every night!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Again, that's hard to narrow down. I've learned so much from The Black Crowes, Beth Hart, Nightwish, My Chemical Romance,The Indigo Girls, NIN- each has given me a different perspective on songwriting and performance.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A chunk of my hair.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are some of the most open-minded people on the planet. Our songs often don't conform to a type or genre, and they are ALWAYS supportive and willing to go along for whatever ride we take them on!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's sites like yours that keep bands like us going. Caring about not just the 'famous' bands, but the emerging artists is what keeps our culture fresh and thriving

15. Something you'd like to add?

We have a lot more music coming soon, so please follow us on our socials to get all the updates!
