Interviews: Godless Throne

US

This is a new interview with the Extreme Symphonic Black Metal artist Godless Throne from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

This was created to be a project filled with intensity, touching on the evils of the world that existed during its darkest moments. After giving it a ton of thought and searching out something unique, Godless Throne became a perfect fit.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

While heavily influenced by the darkness and brutality of pure black metal but we found that incorporating heavy symphonic elements added to the overall vibe and dark feel we were looking for. The operatic female voice combined with a live chamber choir and symphonic keys matched so well with the extreme vocal stylings, brutal drums, and multi-layered guitar attack. In addition, we wanted to bring the power of death metal and deathcore to the forefront. The end result is our album, Damnation through Design featuring all of these elements.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We grew slowly together as a band as each of us recommended one of the other members, who have all had a presence in the local scene until we landed our current lineup.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

As a group, our favorite bands include Cradle of Filth, Behemoth, fleshgood Apocalypse Carnifex, Emperor, Thy Art is Murder and Nightwish. Cradle of Filth is the most influential

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

When we write music we try to be as unique as possible while incorporating all the different genres we are influenced by and producing the heaviest end result possible.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show (finally doing shows post-Covid) was 1/28/22 in Las Vegas but we have 2 California dates this weekend 3/18 and 3/19

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to perform at Wacken Festival or maybe Maryland Deathfest

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

A co-headlining tour with Cradle of Filth or Behemoth would-be killer-

9. Who not?

There is really no band we would not want to share the stage with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We are never scared to go on stage and are always excited to perform - our biggest fear is a technological failure of some sort or another.

11. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans mean everything to us. We love to be on stage doing what we love in front of a crowd.

12. What do you think of our site?

Your site is amazing. We sincerely appreciate the fact that you support new music and underground artists.
