Interviews: OUTSHINE

This is a new interview with the Metal/Rock band OUTSHINE from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

We came up with that many years ago when we first started out (late 90ties haha :)) Beers, "we need to start a band" and what sounds cool.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Im a huge fan of Type O Negative and melancholy music. Then I saw them back in -94 at the Hultsfred festival and also being a Depeche Mode fan we really fell into this dark, melancholy style

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, but the original set-up was based on childhood friends. Now it is only the singer and guitarist and founder Jimmy Boman left.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Jimmy: Type O Negative

Niklas: Paradise Lost

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As of now, the horrifying development in the world but also what has happened in life

6. Where was your last gig?

We did a private showdown in my barn (where the "It´s All Lies" is shot) for a circle of friends and fans, in November 2021.

7. Where would you like to act?

Would be fantastic to play Wacken Open Air sometime!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Type O Negative.

9. Who not?

Machine Head or any other band that is telling people what they should think or do. Can´t take that BS! Bands that are sucking up to big tech, big pharma, and big government are NOT rock n roll or punk. Music should always question the system and the once that taking opportunities to words the weak or common.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yeah, definitely. But you need to get up there and just do shows and get into it. And rehearse so you feel safe with your songs!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, Alice In Chinas, Depeche Mode, and also lately an artist like Kavinsky.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well, being invited to a farmhouse party in the outskirts of Wisconsin ending up 2 hours from the show venue, and waking up hungover as hell with dogs, cats and chickens in the house is pretty weird haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Absolutely love them. They are so hardcore and die-hard! And awake.

14. What do you think of our site?

Great site!

15. Something to add?

We´re really happy to finally get going again with our new album "The Awakening" set to be released on May 13th. We, the people, across the world, need to wake up and see what movement is in place. It is horrifying how easily we are letting fascist behavior come into our lives and how easily the elites are using us and pushing for legislation that will doom our free world.
